There is provided a system and method for an item-based economy in a virtual world. There is provided a server for providing an item exchange for a virtual world lacking a common currency for item valuation, comprising a processor configured to receive a request from a client having an inventory to initiate the item exchange, present a user interface on a display of the client for the item exchange, receive a selection of either a second quantity of second items or a third quantity of third items for the item exchange from the client, remove from the inventory of the client a first quantity of tradable items defined by a first exchange value or a second exchange value based on the selection, and add the second quantity of second items or the third quantity of the third items to the inventory of the client based on the selection.

System and method for item-based economy in a virtual world

A computer based system having one or more computers is provided. In one embodiment, the system comprises a plurality of trainee client computers. The system can include at least one controlled digital character and a non-trainee digital entity, a plurality of models, and a rendering module for rendering the models on a display. The system is usable in training workforce teams and in a wide variety of additional applications.

In order to ensure rapid and effective arrow shaft positioning, without interfering with intended flight trajectory, an arrow rest assembly includes a support for an arrow in proximity to a handle riser portion of a bow. The arrow support includes a body member disposed in a plane generally parallel to a plane defined by the bow and a bowstring on the bow. The body member has a surface for supporting a shaft of the arrow. It also is mounted to the handle riser portion of the bow. The body member has a pivot point spaced from the shaft supporting surface. The mounting is associated with the body member at the pivot point. With this arrangement the arrow rest assembly is such that the mounting accommodates pivotal movement of the body member within the plane of the body member about the pivot point from an arrow supporting position to an arrow passage position.

The operation of a steam sterilizer is monitored by a test unit and a controller which together comprise a system which can be operated in two principal method schemes: (1) the testing for completeness of air removal from a sterilizer chamber, and (2) the testing for effective sterilization conditions. These methods each have two principal modes of operation: (a) the performance of a Bowie and Dick type test, as is usually done on a once-a-day basis; and (b) monitoring the sterilizer during load conditions. In a preferred embodiment a test unit including temperature and pressure sensors, a moisture sensor and a heat sink are positioned within the chamber of a steam sterilizer and transmit by radio the conditions therein to an external controller. The test unit can employ a replaceable cartridge to assure effective operation even after a large number of cycles of operation.

A personalized calendar is provided comprising a plurality of pages printed/imaged with a tabular array of calendar units and at least one event reminder printed in an appropriate one of the calendar units. Preferably, the pages are bound together with a cover releasably sealable for mailing. A system and method for producing personalized calendars is also provided.

A method and apparatus assures effective operation of sterilizers, especially those of the pre-vacuum type. The apparatus performs two principal methods: (1) testing for completeness of air removal from a sterilizer chamber, including the re-entrainment of air in the load due to air leaks in the chamber, vacuum system and/or steam system, and (2) the testing for effective sterilization conditions. Also, performed are three secondary methods: (i) identifying of causes of sterilizer faults, (ii) providing of preventive maintenance procedures (an Early Warning) (iii) identifying of procedures to correct sterilization faults in progress. These methods are illustrated for the two principal modes of operation: (a) the performance of a Bowie and Dick type test, as is usually done on a once-a-day basis; and (b) monitoring the sterilizer during load conditions.

A sighting device for use with an archery bow, comprising a mounting plate mountable on the bow; an elongated support track attached to the mounting plate; at least one blade-like sight element connected generally perpendicular to the support track, the blade-like element being oriented edge-wise relative to the line of sight of the archer, a light emitting diode attached to the blade-like element along the edge thereof facing the archer, the light emitting diode being electrically connectable to an electrical power source; switch means controlling activation of the light emitting diode by the electrical power source; means for manually adjusting the light emitting diode vertically and horizontally, and draw indicator means indicating the position of an arrow used with the bow, the draw indicator means being operative to switch the switch means to activate the light emitting diode when the arrow is at a predetermined position.
