A universal fan-out device comprising a housing having first and second openings, the housing comprising first and second housing components, each of the first and second housing components having a first end and a second end, a channel running between the first and second ends, and sides along each side of the channel, a resilient material disposed in the channel to restrict movement of fibers within the channel, and an engagement mechanism operatively connected to the housing to inter-engage the first and second housing components together.

Universal fan-out device

A connector for an e-textile having a conductive layer that includes conductors includes a terminal and a base separately provided from the terminal. The terminal has a mating end and a mounting end. The mounting end is terminated to the e-textile's conductors. The mating end is configured to be mated with a mating contact of a mating component. The terminal has a body and a plurality of tines extending from the body. The base is arranged opposite the body of the terminal such that the e-textile's conductors are positioned between the base and the body of the terminal. The terminal is crimped to electrically connect the terminal and the base to the e-textile's conductor. The tines are folded against the base to electrically connect the terminal to the base. The body of the terminal and the base engage the e-textile's conductors.

Conductors held between a terminal body and a base connected together

An electrical connector includes a plurality of contacts, and an outer shell having a cavity formed therein. The cavity extends between a loading end and a mating end of the outer shell, and the mating end is configured to join with a mating connector. A front dielectric member includes a base portion and an appendage extending from a rear end of the base portion. The base portion and the appendage have contact passages receiving the contacts. A rear dielectric member includes a hollow interior and contact passages extending between front and rear ends of the rear dielectric member and defining the hollow interior. The front end of the rear dielectric member contacts the rear end of the front dielectric member such that the appendage is positioned within the hollow interior of the rear dielectric member. The contact passages of the appendage and the rear dielectric member cooperate to surround the contacts.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector assembly includes a conductive shell and a connector having a dielectric housing disposed within the shell. The housing includes a conductive outer surface. A conductive member is disposed between the shell and the housing. The conductive member and the shell cooperate to provide a ground path from the conductive outer surface of the housing. The conductive outer surface of the connector housing comprises a conductive coating applied to the outer surface of the housing. The conductive member includes a plurality of flexible tabs that electrically engage the conductive outer surface of the housing.

Electrical connector with ESD protection

An electrical connector assembly includes a conductive shell and a connector having a dielectric housing disposed within the shell. The housing has a mating face configured to receiver the contacts of a mating connector and a mounting face configured to mount the connector to a circuit board. A dielectric member is disposed proximate the mating face of the connector and is connected to the shell. The dielectric member includes apertures configured to receive the contacts of the mating connector therethrough when the mating connector is mated with the connector. The dielectric member includes a conductive trace that is electrically connected to the shell.

An electrical contact assembly includes a contact, a front shell member, and a rear shell member. The front shell member has a core with a front contact passage therethrough to receive the contact. The core is formed with a shroud extending from a front end of the front shell member, and the shroud surrounds and defines a cavity. The front shell member is formed of an integral single piece of non-conductive material. The rear shell member has a core with a rear contact passage therethrough to receive the contact. The rear shell member is coupled to the front shell member such that the front and rear contact passages are substantially aligned along a contact passage axis. The rear shell member is formed of an integral single piece of non-conductive material.

Electrical contact assembly

A seal for an electrical connector in a connector block having a connector channel with a keyway is provided. The seal includes a tubular body that defines a longitudinal axis therethrough. The body includes a forward portion defining a forward end and a rearward portion defining a rearward end. The body is configured to be received in a connector channel in the connector block. A key portion extends longitudinally along an outer surface of the body. The key portion is configured to be received in the keyway in the connector channel. The body and the key portion seal the connector channel in the connector block when the connector is loaded into the connector block.

Keyed electrical connector with sealing boot

A hermaphroditic connector is provided having a housing with a rear end configured to receive a cable. A socket is provided on the front end of the housing and extends forwardly therefrom. The socket includes a shroud and a socket tongue formed on the housing and defining a pocket opening onto a front face of the socket. The shroud and socket tongue are configured to mate with another hermaphroditic connector having a similar shape. The socket includes at least one blocking member in the opening in the front face to interfere with foreign objects that may inadvertently come into contact with the enclosed conductive member. The blocking member may include ribs and/or beveled corner inserts provided in the pocket and extending at least partially along the length of the socket. A contact is held within the pocket and is configured to join a power, signal or ground cable. The bottom surface of the socket includes one or more grooves and/or chamfered edges configured to align with ribs and/or beveled corner cutouts on a mating connector. In accordance with at least one embodiment, the socket includes a shroud and a socket tongue that are staggered with the length of the shroud being greater than the length of the socket tongue in order to exclude foreign objects without interfering with mating of connectors.
