A cage and cage cover combination includes at least a cage cover having a plurality of stacking lugs. The combination also includes at least an animal cage having a lower surface, where the upper surfaces of the stacking lugs, when in contact with the lower surface of an animal cage form a substantially even connection such that a cage stacked on top of a cover rests securely on the cage cover.

A removable cap assembly having a cap with a curved side wall having an inner surface and an outer surface. A top portion extends from the side wall. A boss extends perpendicularly from the top portion in the shape of an inverted trapezoid, where the boss has a bottom and a top. A first circumferential rib extends perpendicularly from the top of the boss. A stopper is dimensioned to seal the opening, having an inverted trapezoidal shape complementary to the boss. The stopper is maintained in the cap by the inverted trapezoid shape of said boss. The stopper includes a disc shaped base, a cylindrical wall portion extending from the base, a first groove in the base surrounding the wall portion dimensioned to receive the bottom of the boss. An appliance member is adapted to be positioned within the hole and extending through the opening.

Removable cap assembly

An economical system and method for eliminating manual operations in smaller scale animal feeding water bottle management is provided. A hand held cap removal tool captures the perimeter of the water bottle cap for automatic capping or decapping. Provisions for suspending the tool for convenient universal motion over a work area are described. The cap removal tool accommodates straight and angled water delivery tubes and most popular water bottle cap sizes.

A removable cap assembly includes a cap having a curved side wall having an inner surface and an outer surface. A top portion extends from the curved side wall, a boss extending perpendicularly from the top portion. The boss has a bottom and a top, a first circumferential rib extending perpendicularly from the top of the boss and a second circumferential rib extending perpendicularly from the bottom of the boss. The boss and rib defining an opening in the cap, the opening has a width and a height. A stopper is dimensioned to seal the opening, the stopper has a hole therein configured to allow a fluid to flow therethrough. The stopper is maintained in the cap by the boss and second circumferential rib, the stopper includes a disc shaped base. A cylindrical wall portion extends from the base, a first groove in the base surrounding the wall portion. The first groove is dimensioned to receive the bottom of the boss and a second circumferential groove at a bottom of the wall dimensioned to receive the second circumferential rib.

A removable cap assembly employs a cap with a curved side wall having an inner surface and an outer surface. A top portion extends from the curved side wall. A boss extends perpendicularly from the top portion. The boss further has a bottom and a top with a circumferential rib extending perpendicularly from the top and at least one ridge on the inside surface of the boss below the top and above the bottom. A stopper is dimensioned to seal the opening. The stopper has a hole therein configured to allow a fluid to flow therethrough. The stopper is maintained in the cap by the boss and the at least one ridge. The stopper includes a disc shaped base and a cylindrical wall portion extending from the base having at least one cavity corresponding to the location of the at least one ridge on the boss. A first groove in the base surrounding the wall portion is dimensioned to receive the bottom of the boss.

A removable cap assembly having a cap, a stopper and a sipper tube. The cap has a curved side wall which has an inner and outer surface. From this wall extends a top portion. A boss extends perpendicularly from the top portion. The boss has a bottom portion and a top portion. A circumferential rib extends perpendicularly from the top portion of the boss. The boss and rib define an opening in the cap. A stopper is provided that is dimensioned to seal the opening of the cap. The stopper is maintained in the cap by the boss and circumferential rib. The stopper includes a disc-shaped base and a cylindrical wall portion that extends therefrom. Additionally, a first groove that is dimensioned to receive the bottom portion of the boss is positioned in the base around the wall portion. Also, a second circumferential groove is positioned in the top portion of the wall portion. This second, groove is dimensioned to receive the rib. The stopper has a hole for receiving a sipper tube.

A system and method for illuminating individual animal cages secured in a multiple cage rack is described. A first lighting system makes use of LEDs secured on the frame of a multiple cage rack; or attached to or disposed in each individual cage. A second lighting system utilizes fiber optic cables connected to or adjacent each individual cage or disposed within. Clear observation of all animals at will is economically provided without interference with normal cleaning and sterilizing procedures, utilizing the virtually maintenance free lighting system.

The present invention provides a removable cap and bottle assembly having a cap having a curved side wall having an inner surface and an outer surface where the inner surface has at least two threads disposed thereon. A bottle is provided having a mouth portion having an inner surface and an outer surface. The outer surface has at least two threads disposed thereon corresponding to the threads disposed on the inner surface of the side wall of the cap, so that when the cap is screwed on to the mouth of the bottle, a compression seal is formed along an entire circumference of the cap and the bottle with less than a full turn of the cap.

The present invention relates to an animal cage for containing animals having a wire bar lid configured to fit on top. The wire bar lid has a perimeter portion with a first support portion and a second portion. The first support portion has a first top side and a first bottom side. The second inner portion has a second top side and a second bottom side. A plurality of longitudinal wire bars are also provided where the longitudinal wire bars are connected directly to the second bottom side of the second inner portion of the perimeter portion in a single welding procedure.

A multiple head bottle filling apparatus and method for filling bottles used in animal feeding. Manifold assemblies designed for filling bottles disposed in at least two differently sized trays is easily removably affixed to the rear back splash of the filling apparatus. Each manifold assembly includes a respective set of liquid discharging members, including openings arranged in a respective grid pattern. Each grid pattern corresponds to the bottle opening, alignment pattern for each differently sized tray. The respective grid patterns of the liquid discharging members are in fixed relationship to each other. Liquid feed lines, manually or automatically activated, supply liquid for bottle filling to a respective one of the manifold assemblies and, in turn, the respective set of liquid discharging members. As differently sized trays containing bottles are presented at the bottle filling apparatus, the bottles are filled by a respective set of liquid discharging members, by registering the tray position in relation to the respective grid pattern. If circumstances require, the bottle filling apparatus and methodology can accommodate additional bottle-containing, tray configurations with appropriately arranged discharge opening, grid patterns as part of one assembly or additional, detachably connected assemblies.

Multiple head bottle filling apparatus and method

An improved mold releasing technique including use of moveable segments to form a part of the male portion of the mold, and the unique product formed thereby is described. The moveable segments which disengage from integral contact with the product once it is formed, permit the formation of the uniquely formed product which includes side and end walls which can be less than 1 degree off vertical. This enables the manipulation of the product design parameters including each wall angle at various points along the wall to achieve a desired wall surface profile especially in the vicinity of the product floor. This results in an increased surface area at or near the product floor which permits a greater number of animals to be housed in the cage product in accordance with Federal guidelines. The tailoring of the wall profiles also allow for the nesting of the products and the accommodation of prior art covers and accessories.

Animal cage and method for making same

A plastic cap is adapted for use with a bottle neck having two spaced grooves formed in the outer surface thereof the upper one of said grooves being spaced from the top edge of the neck so as to define smooth sealing surfaces above, between and below said grooves. The cap has a pair of inwardly directed circumferential beads formed on an inner surface of a thin-walled skirt that depends from a disc-shaped top of the cap. The beads are positioned so that they fit in the grooves when the cap is in place on the neck and form an interference fit with the edges of the grooves to prevent inadvertent removal of the cap. The beads are of such a size that they do not fill the grooves thereby allowing for a large contact area between the inner skirt surface and the sealing surfaces of the neck. A circumferential score line is formed about the skirt between the beads and connects with a spiral score line extending to the bottom edge of the cap adjacent to an upper side of a horizontal tear tab formed at the bottom edge of the skirt, said tear tab being partially connected to the bottom edge of the skirt by a short horizontal continuation of the score line.
