To interface a video/graphic controller, which produces conventional, ana video output signals, suitable mostly for CRT type displays, to a matrix display, one of the video output signals, for example the horizontal sync signal, is encoded with the clock frequency and phase information used in generating the original video output signals. The encoded information is decoded at the display end, by extracting from it the clock information and synthesizing a clock signal which has the identical frequency and phase as the original clock used at the video/graphic controller. The replicated clock signal is used as a clock input to the matrix display, to assure that the video output signals are displayed at the correct pixel locations of the matrix display, preventing picture jitter and/or loss of video/graphics data.

Automated coherent clock synthesis for matrix display

A camera system providing color night vision for use in reconnaissance, or he like. The system includes a first lens, a mirror subassembly for splitting the lens image into three images, a filter subassembly for respectively filtering the three images through a red filter and a green filter and a blue filter first and second and third intensifiers having respective first and second and third camera units which view the three images and send three image signals in series to a display monitor where the color image is viewed.

Color night vision camera system

Disclosed is a capacitive voltage divider drive circuit for electroluminent matrix displays comprised of, for example, thin film electroluminescent capacitance type elements. The drive circuit for each display element, which exhibits a relatively low capacitance, includes a relatively large series connected capacitor which couples a drive voltage thereacross upon the closure of a first switching element. Due to voltage divider action, a relatively greater portion of the drive voltage appears across and energizes the display element by exceeding its threshold voltage. Additionally, another relatively large capacitor is coupled in parallel with the display element upon the closure of a second switching element which, again due to voltage divider action, reduces the drive voltage thereacross below its energizing threshold level to deenergize it. The switching elements are comprised of semiconductor switch devices which are adapted to operate in timed relationship with a resonant AC drive voltage applied to the matrix. A plurality of row and column electrodes form the capacitive type display elements. Moreover, each row electrode in the matrix is connected to a respective first switching element while each column electrode is connected to a respective series capacitor as well as a respective parallel capacitor and second switching element.
