A conveyor belt idler assembly comprises support structure, a strand of catenary idler rollers, and an outboard wing roller or slider bar. The strand of catenary idler rollers can take on various trough-shaped contours. The outboard wing roller or slider bar is attached to the support structure and is able to translate relative to the support structure only along a linear path. The translational movement of the outboard wing roller or slider bar along the linear path is at least partial dependent upon changes in the contour of the strand of catenary idler rollers. The structure is adjustable such that the strand of catenary idler rollers can be lowered and raised to facilitate servicing and installation. A plurality of idler assemblies can be connected to each other using connecting brackets that rigidly tie the assemblies to each other near the outermost idler rollers or slider bars.

Conveyor belt idler assembly

A tensioning arrangement is provided to position belt cleaner blades relative to conveyor belt, which arrangement includes an inflatable bladder which acts to move a pivotally mounted crank, which, in turn, moves a support shaft, which carries the cleaner blades. Pressurization of the bladder causes it to expand thereby engaging the arm which moves the support shaft to a position at which the cleaner blades engage the belt to be cleaned.

Pneumatically actuated tensioning arrangement for conveyor belt cleaner

A collection receptacle and method of using same to scrape and collect residue from a moving surface, such as a conveyor belt, for a predetermined time period in order to analyze and evaluate both the nature and amount of residue carried by the moving surface. Information derived from the collection procedure is of assistance in determining the type and extent of conveyor belt cleaning equipment required. The receptacle consists of a container with an open upper end and one or more scraper blades extending upwardly above the side walls of the container. A pair of spacer arms also extend upwardly from the container and engage the moving surface.

Collection receptacle and method

A conveyor belt cleaner mounted on a transverse support member including an arm extending from a mounting bracket and a belt cleaner blade secured on the arm. A positioning arrangement is provided between the arm and the cleaner blade to allow the blade to rotate about the central axis of the arm within predetermined limits in either direction so as to allow the scraping edge of the cleaner blade to align with the surface of the conveyor belt being cleaned. A nut and a resilient washer are provided to secure the blade against a collar. An alternative securement includes a pin-and-slot connection which allows the same rotative action of the blade relative to the arm and having multiple seals against the entrance of dirt into the connection.

Conveyor belt cleaner

A track mounted conveyor belt cleaner wherein individual belt scraper blades are affixed to sleeve members which slide linearly along a support member positioned generally transverse to the direction of travel of the belt to be cleaned. The sleeves are slidably mounted on the support member such that they may freely slide from one end to the other but are fixed against either rotational or vertical movement and provide for repair or replacement of wiper blades without requiring conveyor belt shutdown.

Belt cleaner mounting arrangement

A skirt board and installation arrangement adapted effectively to seal a moving conveyor belt, including skirt board sections interlocked with each other and individually adjustable and removable for replacement, which can be accomplished easily without major tools and without stopping the conveyor belt. The skirt board sections are simple to install individually, or by groups and these operations may be performed while the conveyor belt continues to run and when installed, maintains a proper and effective seal with the belt.

A mounting and support arrangement for conveyor belt cleaners which provides for selective incremental rotation of a cross-shaft on which is carried a plurality of belt cleaner blades suspended from mounting arms. A radial ratchet and pawl arrangement is provided exterior to the housing of the conveyor belt to be cleaned which provides for rotation of the shaft to bias the cleaner blades against the belt until the desired blade pressure is attained. A locking pawl secures the shaft against counter-rotation.
