The aerodynamic skirt assembly for attachment to a trailer may comprise a side skirt fairing, a rear skirt fairing, and a secondary treatment. The side skirt fairing may comprise an inner surface and an outer surface. The rear skirt fairing may comprise an inner surface and an outer surface and located aft of the side skirt fairing. The secondary treatment may be coupled to the outer surface of the rear skirt fairing, wherein the secondary treatment is canted outwardly at an angle from the outer surface of the skirt fairing and configured to redirect the air around the at least one rear wheel assembly.

A strut assembly for mounting an aerodynamic fairing assembly for attachment to a trailer of a tractor-trailer having a centerline, transverse structural support members extending between sides of the trailer, and longitudinal members extending along a length of the trailer. The strut assembly may comprise a mounting plate, a strut body, and a substantially rectangular composite spring. The mounting bracket comprising a mounting plate and a pair of spaced apart sidewalls. The strut body rotatably may be coupled to the pair of spaced apart sidewalls on the mounting bracket. The substantially rectangular composite spring may be coupled to an upper surface of the strut body and configured to contact an underside of the mounting plate of the mounting bracket to resist inward deflection from an external force applied to the strut body.

Methods and apparatus for a strut assembly for an aerodynamic trucking system

An aerodynamic fairing assembly for attachment to a trailer of a tractor-trailer. The aerodynamic fairing assembly may comprise a front skirt fairing and a rear skirt comprising a transition. The transition may extend outwardly of the side skirt fairing at a distance from the centerline of the trailer. The side skirt faring and rear skirt fairing are coupled to the trailer by one or more struts.

An aerodynamic fairing assembly for attachment to a trailer of a tractor-trailer. The aerodynamic fairing assembly may comprise a front skirt fairing and a movable skirt fairing that is configures to move forward and rearward along the length of the trailer. The front skirt faring and movable skirt fairing are coupled to the trailer by one or more mounting brackets.

A side skirt assembly for attachment to a trailer of a tractor-trailer, particularly to a trailer frame comprising transverse structural support members extending between sides of the trailer. The side skirt assembly comprises an elongated skirt panel, an elongated support and one or more skirt support members. The side skirt assemble comprises an inner surface and an outer surface. The elongated support is coupled to the elongated skirt panel on the inner surface thereof proximate an upper edge of the elongated skirt panel and extends at least a portion of the length of the elongated skirt panel. The more skirt support members couple the elongated skirt panel to a corresponding one or more or of the transverse structural support members.

The aerodynamic skirt assembly for attachment to a trailer may comprise a side skirt fairing, a transition, and a vented skirt fairing. The transition may be located aft of the side skirt fairing and forward of the vented skirt fairing. The vented skirt fairing may be located aft of the transition. The vented skirt fairing may comprise at least one longitudinal vent configured to allow air to flow therethrough. The vented skirt fairing may extend outwardly of the side of the trailer frame to accommodate the wheels. One or more mounting brackets may be used to couple the elongated skirt panel, the transition, and the vented skirt fairing to one or more transverse structural support members. A rear exhaust fairing may be located aft of the vented skirt fairing and coupled to one or more transverse structural support members.
