Disclosed is a process for manufacturing copolyether ester polyol comprising: (1) providing feedstock comprising polytetramethylene ether glycol having a number average molecular weight of 350 g/mol or less and an oligomeric cyclic ether content of 4.0% by weight or more and a diacid composition selected from alpha-omega alkanedioic acids of formula HOC&#x2014;(CH)&#x2014;COH, where n is from 2 through 16 to a reaction zone maintained at reaction conditions to produce a crude polyol product; (2) feeding the crude polyol product of step (1) to a separation zone at separation conditions to produce a first separation product having an oligomeric cyclic ether content of 2.0% by weight or greater, and a second separation product comprising copolyether ester polyol having an oligomeric cyclic ether content of less than 2.0% by weight; and (3) recovering the second separation product.

The present invention provides improved solvent systems for the preparation of liquid formulations of urease inhibitors, specifically NBPT, comprising aryl alkyl alcohols. The solvent systems provided good solubility of the urease inhibitor as well as at least one of improved stability, lower flammability, lower toxicity, improved cold temperature storage, improved handling, improved adsorption onto and/or solubility with solid media such as urea. The invention provides polyester polyol compositions and resin blends, useful as components of polyurethane and polyisocyanurate polymers, produced from cyclohexane oxidation reaction byproducts, such as water extracts and non-volatile distillation residues from the reaction. Such byproducts of industrial processes for preparation of adipic acid and caprolactam, important intermediates in the production of various types of nylon, have hitherto largely been used only as fuels. The present invention provides value-added products, methods for making, and methods for using the byproduct-derived polyester polyol compositions. For example, the invention provides polyurethane (PU) and/or polyisocyanurate (PIR) polymers made using the polyol compositions and polyfunctional isocyanates. The PU and PIR polymers can be used as adhesives, binders (e.g., for wood fibers), coatings (e.g., for controlled release fertilizers), and foams.

Disclosed are ester compositions, solvents, cleaning formulations, curing agents, reactive diluent solvents, controlled acid function release agents, polyol monomers, drilling mud and methods of making and using the same.
