A method for operating an X-ray imaging system includes outputting first X-ray beams onto an X-ray detector by an X-ray source for acquisition of a first X-ray capture of an object under examination. The object under examination is arranged between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector and is passed through by the first X-ray beams. The X-ray detector acquires an entry dose of the first X-ray beams after passage through the object under examination. A parameter value of at least one parameter for output of second X-ray beams by the X-ray source for acquisition of a second X-ray capture of the object under examination is ascertained by a control system. The parameter value is ascertained by the control system according to a specified ascertainment method as a function of a foreground substance of a foreground object, a background substance of a background object, and the entry dose.

A method and system for providing a mask image including receiving medical image data including a temporal dimension and generating a frequency data set including data points with in each case one frequency value by applying a Fourier transform to the image data. The Fourier transform is applied at least along the temporal dimension. The frequency data set is segmented into two sub-areas based on at least a frequency threshold value. The mask image is generated by applying an inverse Fourier transform to the first and/or the second sub-area of the frequency data set. The generated mask image is provided.

A method for determining at least one competency relationship to be used as a basis for selection of a dose-related recording parameter for an examination process, in particular the recording of a timed series of x-ray images as an x-ray image dataset, of a patient at an x-ray device, between at least one competency value describing a user-specific or user-group specific user competency in respect of the evaluation of recorded x-ray images and at least the at least one recording parameter. The method includes displaying a plurality of x-ray image datasets corresponding to different recording parameters and/or having different image contents described by image content parameters; recording, for each x-ray image dataset, at least one measured value describing the competency value based on an interaction of a user with an operating device assigned to a display device; and determining, based on the measured values, the competency relationship describing the recording parameter-dependent competency value.

Determining a competency relationship, setting dose-related recording parameter using competency relationship

Operating a medical image recording device in the context of an image recording routine for a patient is provided. The image recording routine serves an image recording purpose. The image recording device is controlled based on operating parameters implemented by a controller of the image recording device. The operating parameters are identified completely automatically by an identification algorithm from input data describing at least the patient in the form of a patient model and/or the image recording purpose, and from a registration of the patient with a coordinates system of the image recording device. The operating parameters are used to control the image recording device. An examination region that is to be recorded for the patient and the image recording purpose are derived based on the registration.

Operating a medical image recording device

A method and apparatus for determining an x-ray image data record of a target location subjected to a movement using an x-ray device. A number of basic images of the target location are recorded using a basic exposure time in each case and the x-ray image data record corresponding to an x-ray image with a longer exposure time is determined by combining basic images registered with one another. At least one quality value assigned hereto and relating to the movement in the target location during the recording is determined for each basic image and the contribution of a basic image to the x-ray image data record is determined as a function of the quality value.

Determination of an X-ray image data record of a moving target location

A method to optimally set a position of a form filter in an x-ray image recording apparatus is proposed. The x-ray image recording apparatus has an x-ray radiation source and an x-ray radiation detector. An x-ray image is firstly recorded in a first position of the form filter. A new position of the filter is then calculated and automatically set with the aid of the x-ray image. A new x-ray image is then recorded. With a minimal dose of a patient, the method enables low contrast images to be recorded for a minimal main dose of the patient, in particular in a sequence.

To improve the quality of x-ray images, IN a method to process an x-ray image, a mathematical correction of the x-ray image is implemented, wherein the correction at least partially removes from the x-ray image the locally dependent blurring caused by a projection direction-dependent, effective optical focus size of an x-ray tube used to acquire the x-ray image.
