A patient handling apparatus () comprising abase () with a frame () and a patient support device (), the patient support device () being movable relative to the base (). The patient support device () is movably mounted to the frame () between an upright and an inclined position, in which the patient support device () is inclined backwards or forwards in the inclined position relative to the upright position by means of a guiding arrangement (). The guiding arrangement () comprises at least one frame guiding element () mounted to the frame () and a support guiding element () mounted to the patient support device ().

Patient handling apparatus

A patient repositioning device includes an upper body support and a lower body support which are generally planar and laterally spaced from one another by a spacing element. A handle can rotate in the plane of the supports, enabling a care giver to rotate a patient form a sitting to a lying position and then to roll the patient onto their back. Another embodiment provides a patient cradle for cradling a patient from a reclining to a sitting position and vice versa.

Patient repositioning system

A shower stretcher assembly () includes a frame () which supports a platform () consisting of three mattress support panels (-), and a headboard () and foot board (). The support panels (-) define a back rest section (), a seat section () and a foot section (). The seat section () is of flexible material to more closely conform to the shape of a person lying thereon. The stretcher assembly () is provided with side barriers () at each head and foot end, the side barriers () arranged to move between a raised vertical position, a raised position extending outwards from the frame, and a lowered position in which they lie alongside the frame so as to be below the level of the mattress of the stretcher. The side barriers present substantially vertical walls to accommodate a water-resistant mattress with side walls ().

Shower stretcher

An assisted propulsion system, method and chassis for conveying a payload along a surface are described. A plurality of wheels disposed about the chassis support it on the surface. A drive provides at least assisted propulsion to the chassis along the surface. At least a driving part of the drive is connected to the chassis via a mount having a resiliently sprung link. At least the driving part of the drive has a fixed orientation and is moveable independently of the chassis and the plurality of wheels in a direction towards the surface. The resiliently sprung link is arranged to direct at least the driving part onto the surface during provision of the assisted propulsion. A sensor is arranged to monitor acceleration of the drive and to communicate data on acceleration to a controller, which controls operation of the drive in dependence on the data received from the sensor.

A shower stretcher assembly including a frame which supports a platform having panels that define a back rest section, a seat section, and a foot section. The seat section is flexible and capable of conforming to the shape of a person lying thereon.

Leg lift

An arrangement and method for displaying at least a first and a second image. The arrangement comprises at least one light source () adapted to generate light having at least a first and a second light characteristic; and at least a first and a second image forming element () arranged to display a first and a second image (), respectively. The first image forming element () is at least responsive to the light having the first light characteristic. The second image forming element () is at least responsive to the light having the second light characteristic.
