An exemplary behind-the-ear ('BTE') hearing device has a side specific structure and includes a housing comprising: a proximal portion configured to be positioned towards an upper part of an ear of a recipient, the proximal portion having a curved shape configured to curve within a first reference plane such that the proximal portion is configured to follow a median shape of the ear when the BTE hearing device is worn by the recipient; and a distal portion configured to extend behind the ear when the BTE hearing device is worn by the recipient, the distal portion configured to extend within a second reference plane that intersects the first reference plane at an angle such that the distal portion is bent with respect to the proximal portion and is configured to extend toward a skull of the recipient when the BTE hearing device is worn by the recipient.

Hearing aid

Within a casing of a hearing device to be worn in an area of an auricle such as behind an ear, comprises bendable portions such that the hearing device can be at least partially deformed.

A hearing aid includes at least two components joined together via an injection molding process. The injection molding process mitigates the need for a separate fastening means to join the components.

The hearing device comprises a housing with electronic components and a battery compartment with an opening in the housing. The battery compartment comprises means for removeably engaging a battery door. The hearing device further comprises a set of battery doors, each comprising mechanical means for detachably receiving a battery, the shells of each battery door of the set of battery doors having different shapes and sizes, each adapted to the size of the assigned specific battery type.

A hearing device is made by manufacturing a first functional part of a first material to provide a first function for the hearing device. A second functional part is manufactured of a second material to provide a second function for the hearing device. The first and second parts are assembled to form a composite part to provide both of the first and second functions at the hearing device. The second functional part is injection molded integrally with the first part while simultaneously performing manufacturing of the second part and assembling of the second part and the first part. The manufacturing and assembling of the first and second part take place within a common mold.
