The example vehicle mounted RFID system is further configured to determine that an operating state of a vehicle switched from an active charging state to an inactive state. The example vehicle mounted RFID system is further configured to, in response to determine that the operating state of the vehicle switched from the active charging state to the inactive state, initialize a timer for a period of time. The example vehicle mounted RFID system is further configured to, in response to an elapse of the period of time, switch the RFID system to a low-power mode.

A system is provided that includes sensors(s) configured to provide sensed input including measurements of motion and/or orientation of a user during performance of a task to work a complex-system component. The system includes a front-end system configured to process the sensed input including the measurements to identify a known pattern that indicates a significance of the sensed input from which to identify operations of an electronic resource. The front-end system is configured to form and communicate an input to cause the electronic resource to perform the operations and produce an output. The operations include determination of an action of the user during performance of the task, or calculation of a process variable related to performance of the task, from the measurements. And the front-end system is configured to receive the output from the electronic resource, and communicate the output to a display device, audio output device or haptic sensor.

Tracking a user to support tasks performed on complex-system components

A system is provided that includes sensor(s) configured to provide sensed input including measurements of motion of a user during performance of a task, and in which the motion may include a gesture performed in one of a plurality of 3D zones in an environment of the user that are defined to accept respective, distinct gestures. A front-end system may receive and process the sensed input including the measurements to identify the gesture and from the gesture, identify operations of an electronic resource. The front-end system may identify the gesture based on the one of the plurality of 3D zones in which the gesture is performed. The front-end system may then form and communicate an input to cause the electronic resource to perform the operations and produce an output. And the front-end system may receive the output from the electronic resource, and communicate the output to a display device.

A network system provisions a mobile client system with a collection of security parameters on a per application basis and a per device basis. Disclosed herein is a method for executing unprotected mode services in a protected mode computing environment includes initiating a protected mode service that is configured to execute in a protected mode. Further, the method includes verifying an integrity of one or more unprotected mode services configured to execute in an unprotected mode. The one or more unprotected mode services is registered with the protected mode service. The method also includes initiating an unprotected mode service of the one or more unprotected mode services in response to the integrity of the unprotected mode service being verified.

The system includes the mobile computing device and a server computer that includes a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory including processor-executable instructions for performing the steps of storing, in the memory, parameters for authorizing data to be provided to the mobile computing device and determining at least one contextual cue associated with at least one of a task to be performed, the mobile computing device, and a user of the mobile computing device, wherein the at least one contextual cue is associated with the parameters. The processor-executable instructions also perform the steps of authorizing data to be provided to the mobile computing device when the at least one contextual cue aligns with the parameters and providing the data to the mobile computing device.

An anomaly detection and cataloging system is described that includes a handheld probe having a probe tip, a user interface, and a communications interface. The system further includes a system controller and a probe locating device. The probe is operable, via the user interface, for transmitting, via the communications interface, a user selected anomaly type to the system controller, the anomaly type being associated with a manufactured part or airplane on the ground (AOG). The probe locating device is operable to provide to the system controller a location associated with the probe tip, and the system is programmed to associate the user selected anomaly type with the location associated with the probe tip.

A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for managing data on an intermittently connected sensor. A data management system manages the data on radio frequency identification tags. The data management system comprises a radio frequency identification tag capable of storing the data, program code stored on the radio frequency identification tag, and a reader data processing system. The reader data processing system is capable of receiving the data and the program code from the radio frequency identification tag in a radio frequency signal and capable of executing the program code to read the data.

Data management for intermittently connected sensors

A blackboard parallel processing system for carrying out a general processing task using a plurality of parallel processors. In one application of the blackboard processing system, a workstation (102), which is part of an an automated workstation manufacturing system (AWMS), includes a blackboard control unit (BCU) (106) on which four separate functions are implemented in separate identical modules. The BCU includes a database module (34) having access to a global database, which is available to each of the plurality of parallel processors, referred to as knowledge source processors (KSPs) (40). A trigger module (46) includes trigger patterns that are compared to the data developed from messages transmitted by the KSPs to initiate specific tasks according to a predefined sequence. A scheduler module (42) responds to the trigger signals, by transmitting a signal to initiate each task, either by a specified KSP or by the KSP that is the least loaded with previously assigned processing task. A communication module (38) serves as an interface between knowledge source operating systems in each of the KSPs. Applications running in each KSP are initiated in response to the signals provided by the BCU, producing data and using data available to each of the KSPs on the global database.
