Aspects of the disclosure include a threat detecting apparatus. The threat detecting apparatus can include an interface circuit, an opcode detector, and a pattern analyzer. The interface circuit is configured to receive a data stream. The opcode detector can be configured to identify an opcode sequence embedded in the data stream based on a first model graph that includes a plurality of interconnected token nodes. Each token node is representative of an occurrence or a non-occurrence of a token. The pattern analyzer may be configured to identify an opcode signature embedded in the identified opcode sequence based on a second model graph, and to output a signal indicative of the successful identification of the opcode signature. The second model graph can include a plurality of interconnected opcode nodes, and each opcode node can be representative of an occurrence or a non-occurrence of a predetermined combination of one or more opcodes.

Method for detecting a threat and threat detecting apparatus

A computerized classifier system that forms convex hulls containing all training experiences for each target class (e.g. threat/non-threat) is disclosed. The intersection of convex hulls for each pair of classes defines a region of ambiguity in feature space. Measurement of feature vector(s) outside an ambiguous region of feature space leads to a class decision while measurement of feature vector(s) within an ambiguous region of feature space defined by convex hulls causes a transition to a new feature space with new features. In particular embodiments, measured feature data includes estimated motion states and electrical lengths of a given object, and range, velocity and acceleration image data from second phase differences for debris mitigation.

A method for analyzing ballistic trajectories comprises determining invariants for known ballistic objects, defining a reference graph having nodes corresponding to the invariants, and defining a query graph having nodes connected to nodes of the reference graph corresponding to anticipated invariant queries to be made using the query graph. One or more sets of invariants corresponding to trajectories of one or more observed objects are input into the reference graph and traverse through the nodes of the reference graph, leaving a record in the nodes traversed. A query is selected for the query graph corresponding to one or more range of invariants, the query generating a query result identifying the nodes of the reference graph that satisfy the query. Identifying each of the observed objects identified by a record in the identified nodes determines which of the one the observed objects satisfy the query.

The method also comprises processing with the graph, using a processor, real-time sensor data corresponding to a first unclassified vehicle track until the first unclassified vehicle track is classified.

A method and system provide for confirmation of friendly aircraft as a backup to conventional IFF (identification, friend or foe) telecommunication systems and methods. An IFF secondary radar signal is generated and directed to an aircraft. When no confirming response is received within a pre-determined time period, the invention provides for generating and transmitting a pre-arranged modulated signal to the aircraft. In response to receiving the pre-arranged modulated signal, the aircraft notifies the aircrew to execute a pre-arranged kinematic maneuver that is detected by the systems using radar means to confirm that the aircraft is a friendly aircraft.
