A fluid injector system includes at least one injector for pressurizing and delivering at least one fluid from at least one fluid reservoir, at least one fluid path section providing fluid communication between a bulk fluid reservoir and a syringe connected to the at least one injector, and at least one sensor arranged along the at least one fluid path section. The at least one sensor includes an emitter configured to emit light through the at least one fluid path section, and a detector configured to receive the light emitted through the at least one fluid path section and generate an electrical signal based on at least one property of the received light. The fluid injector system may further include at least one processor programmed or configured to determine, based on the electrical signal generated by the detector, at least one of an identity of the at least one fluid present in the fluid path section, a concentration of the at least one fluid in the fluid path section, and at least one property of the fluid path section.

System and method for detecting fluid type in tubing for fluid injector apparatus

A fluid injection system that includes an injector head having a syringe for delivering a fluid to a patient; a mounting structure pivotally connected to the injector head and configured to support the injector head above a surface; and a control system operationally coupled to the injector head for controlling an injection procedure is disclosed. The fluid injection system is provided with various sensors to control various aspects of the fluid injection system, such as the establishment of a reference plane, the determination of a tilt angle of the injector head, and the determination of a temperature of an actuation system of the injector head.

A fluid injection system including an injector head having a syringe for delivering a fluid to a patient, a mounting structure pivotally connected to the injector head and configured to support the injector head above a surface, and a control system operationally coupled to the injector head for controlling an injection procedure is disclosed. A system for identifying information regarding a syringe assembly used with a fluid injector includes at least one syringe assembly having a barrel extending from a distal end to an open proximal end, at least one indicator provided on at least a portion of an outer circumferential surface of the barrel, an injector having at least one syringe port adapted to receive the at least one syringe assembly, and at least one sensor provided on or within at least a portion of each syringe port. The at least one indicator may conduct electricity corresponding to information regarding the at least one syringe assembly, which is identified by the at least one sensor.

The control device is used to control delivery of fluid from a fluid delivery system during a medical injection procedure. The fluid delivery system includes an injector adapted to actuate a syringe used to deliver the injection fluid to a patient. The control device is operatively associated with the injector for controlling discrete flow rates of injection fluid delivered to the patient. The control device includes a housing and an actuator associated with the housing. An electronic substrate is disposed within the housing and comprises a conductive pattern. The actuator is adapted for operative association with the conductive pattern. The conductive pattern includes a plurality of predetermined digital values corresponding to discrete flow rates of injection fluid to be delivered by the injector, such that when the actuator is actuated the actuator operatively associates with the conductive pattern for transmitting the digital values to the injector.
