An electric connector assembly includes an intermediate connector for connecting the first mating connector to the second mating connector to facilitate connections between two circuit boards, which includes a power supply terminal having a main body portion and a flange portion having a larger width than the main body portion; an outer housing including a first inner housing portion affixed to the outer housing, the first inner housing portion having a first terminal penetrating portion configured to engage with the main body portion of a power supply terminal and latching portions. The intermediate connector also includes a second inner housing portion configured to align with the first inner housing portion that has engaging portions configured to engage the second inner housing portion to the outer housing via the latching portions; and a second terminal penetrating portion, configured to engage with the main body portion of the power supply terminal.

Electrical connector assembly

A plug connector for cooperation with a socket connector () comprises a plug housing () having latch arms () with an end lug () for cooperation with an appropriate groove () in the socket connector (), and being formed with a pair of split cross ribs () forming a gap () therebetween. A CPA member () is provided for locking the connectors () when mated, and comprises a pair of locking legs () and a pair of spring arms (). The spring arms () each has a free end lug () and a nose () which projects inwardly so that, when the CPA member () and the plug connector () are in a pre-locked position, the nose () takes a short distance (d) to a support surface () of the connector housing (), and when there is a load well in excess of the mating a force onto the CPA member () in this condition, the noses () make a stop on the support surface () to keep the CPA member () in the pre-locked position. When there is an excessive force placed on the CPA member, the spring arms () may slip into the gaps () to prevent damaging of the CPA member ().

Plug connector

Provided is an electrical connector having first and second surfaces and configured to establish electrical communication between two or more electrical devices. The electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a resilient, conductive contact retained in an aperture disposed from the first surface to the second surface. To contact the electrical devices, the contact includes a center portion from which extends two diverging, cantilevered spring arms that project beyond either surface of the electrical connector. To shorten the path that current must travel through the contact, one spring arm terminates in a bellows leg that extends proximate to the second spring arm. When placed between the electrical devices, the spring arms are deflected together causing the bellows leg to press against the second spring arm. For retaining the contact within the aperture, the contact also includes retention members extending from the center portion that engage the insulative housing.

Electrical connector

The electrical contact may include a center portion, a first spring arm and a second spring arm. The center portion may include a retention member, The second spring arm may include a looped end.
