A guiding device for guiding a fiber texture on an impregnation mandrel of a winding machine, the device including a first radial spacer for placing facing a first cheekplate of the impregnation mandrel, a second radial spacer for placing facing a second cheekplate of the impregnation mandrel, and a cross-member suitable for supporting the first and second spacers, the cross-member including an adjustment system for adjusting the positions of the first and second spacers and suitable for positioning the first and second spacers apart respectively from the first and second cheekplates of the impregnation mandrel so as to hold a first portion of fiber texture that extends along the first cheekplate pressed against the first cheekplate, and a second portion fiber texture that extends along the second cheekplate pressed against the second cheekplate, without blocking rotation of the impregnation mandrel.

A method of measuring the thickness of a fiber texture wound on an impregnation mandrel for fabricating an annular structural part of a turbine engine out of composite material, the method including, prior to winding the fiber texture, acquiring a reference distance between an outside surface of the impregnation mandrel and a distance sensor positioned facing the outside surface of the impregnation mandrel, while winding the fiber texture, acquiring at least one real distance between the distance sensor and the outside surface of the fiber texture wound on the impregnation mandrel, and calculating the real thickness of the fiber texture wound on the impregnation mandrel by subtracting the real distance from the reference distance.

A cutting table for cutting out a fiber preform obtained by three-dimensional weaving and having two portions that are connected together by at least one zone of non-interlinking and that present outlines of different shapes, includes a tabletop provided with a recess for receiving one of the portions of the fiber preform to be cut out. The fiber preform is capable of laying flat in the access. The cutting table further includes sacrificial plates for interposing between the portions of the fiber preform for cutting out and for being fastened to the tabletop. The sacrificial plates are capable of covering partially the recess of the tabletop while being fastened to the tabletop. The cutting table also includes a cutting template configured to be pressed against a portion of the fiber preform that is positioned outside of the recess, and a device for applying compacting pressure against the cutting template.

A method for forming a preform for a hollow turbomachine component is provided. The method includes positioning a sheet made of woven fibers on a base equipped with a longitudinal impression; positioning a mandrel in the longitudinal impression to clamp the sheet between the base and the mandrel, the mandrel having a thickness that increases between a proximal end and a distal end; locking the distal end of the mandrel into position; placing a proximal block resting on the base; forming two flaps of the sheet around the flanks of the mandrel; resting two lateral blocks on the base on either side of the mandrel; locking the lateral blocks into position to form an assembly; drying the assembly to form a preform including a flat base, from which two flaps extend perpendicularly; and adjusting the flaps to the dimensions of the mandrel by trimming excess material.

A device for holding a fiber texture on an impregnation mandrel of a winding machine, the device including a cross-member forming a support having each of its ends for fastening on one of cheekplates of the mandrel, a central pad carrier mounted on the cross-member and including a pad for pressing against a fiber texture layer wound on the mandrel, two lateral pad carriers mounted on the cross-member and each including a main pad for pressing against the fiber texture layer wound on the mandrel and a lateral pad for pressing against a lateral margin of the fiber texture layer wound on the mandrel, and a mechanism exerting a clamping force urging the pads against the fiber texture layer wound on the mandrel.

Device for holding a fiber texture on an impregnation mandrel of a winding machine

A method of placing a fastener plate on a structure made of composite material, the structure being obtained by a technique of injecting resin under a vacuum, the technique including placing a fiber preform in a closed mold, injecting a thermosetting resin into the mold, and polymerizing the resin prior to cooling. The method includes mounting a metal fastener plate against a wall of the mold before putting the fiber preform into place, the fastener plate coming into contact with one of faces of the fiber preform while the fiber preform is being put into place in the mold, and the resin becoming deposited between the fastener plate and the fiber preform while the resin is being injected into the mold. The method may be used in particular for fastening equipment on a composite material fan casing of a gas turbine for an aeroengine.

Method and system for attaching a piece of equipment to a structure made from composite material

A machine for weaving or winding a fiber preform on a mandrel having an axis of rotation that is substantially horizontal and that serves to receive the preform, the machine having a plurality of cameras pointing towards the underside of the fiber preform in order to scan the hidden face of the fiber preform and acquire images of the hidden face; an image analysis module for processing these images of the hidden face of the fiber preform in a plurality of adjacent scan windows, and for extracting weaving patterns therefrom and comparing them with reference weaving patterns previously stored in the module; a motor for driving the mandrel in rotation about its axis of rotation; and a control unit for stopping rotation of the mandrel if the result of the comparison reveals a difference of appearance between the two weaving patterns.

Pressure-maintenance device for producing composite parts by resin injection and associated method

A method for manufacturing a thick turbine engine part in a composite material by injection of resin under pressure. A fiber preform is positioned in a mold, a resin composition is injected into the mold, the resin composition is polymerized in the mold so as to obtain the part, and the part is removed from the mold. Prior to the injection of the resin composition, a mold release shim is inserted between the fibrous preform and a wall of the mold, and between the polymerization of the resin composition and the removal of the part from the mold, the mold release shim is extracted.

Method for manufacturing a turbine engine part by injection of resin under pressure

A propeller blade, which can belong to a fan without covering by an external casing, includes two portions fitted into one another and of different materials, generally composite, to resist various stresses, heating coming from a rotor or impacts of solid bodies. An internal portion includes a blade core, a blade shank and possibly a foam lining, and a preform of an outside portion is assembled to it by surrounding it closely before being completely formed by receiving its resin, which is placed into polymerization. A method for producing the propeller blade guarantees good assembly of the portions without defects of form, damage or deformation of a fiber weave.

An impregnation mandrel for production of gas turbine casings made from composite material, the mandrel including: an annular wall with a profile of an outer surface that corresponds to that of an internal surface of the casing to be produced; two side plates, with profiles that correspond to those of external casing flanges to be produced; and a removable device for clamping a layer having a fibrous texture, which is wound around the mandrel.
