A reel includes a first reel member and a second reel member. The first reel member includes a first barrel portion, a first flange portion, and a first hub portion, and the second reel member includes a second barrel portion, a second flange portion, and a second hub portion. The first barrel portion and the second barrel portion are configured to be coupled with one another. The first barrel portion includes an inner wall and an outer wall that are spaced apart from one another in a radial direction of the first barrel portion, and the first barrel portion, the first flange portion, and the first hub portion are portions of a first single piece structure of unitary construction.

A connector includes a body having a cable receiving end configured to receive the end of the coaxial cable, a coupler configured to be coupled with and to rotate relative to the body, and a compression ring including a forward sleeve portion and a rearward outer ring portion attached to one another by a plurality of tabs. The forward sleeve portion is configured to be coupled to the cable receiving end of the body, and the plurality of tabs are configured to shear so as to separate the rearward outer ring portion from the forward sleeve portion when a desired force is met as the compression ring is moved relative to the body. The rearward outer ring includes an inner opening when separated from the forward sleeve portion, the separated rearward outer ring is configured to be slidingly moved relative to the body and the coupler, and the inner opening is configured to fit over the coupler such that the rearward outer ring is configured to be a torque assist member.

A connector includes a first connector body having a through hole configured to receive a conduit, a first washer disposed in the first connector body, the first washer being configured to permit the conduit to be pushed in a first direction through the through hole while resisting movement of the conduit in a second direction opposite to the first direction, a second connector body configured to be coupled to the first connector body, the second connector body having a through hole configured to receive a tubular member, and a second washer disposed in the second connector body, the second washer being configured to permit the tubular member to be pushed in the second direction through the through hole of the second connector body and into the second connector body while resisting movement of the tubular member in the first direction.

Connectors for use in high pressure coax core ejection and fiber optic cable injection

A coaxial cable connector includes a body configured to engage a coaxial cable having a conductive electrical grounding property, a post configured to engage the body and the coaxial cable when the connector is installed on the coaxial cable, a nut configured to engage an interface port at a retention force, and a conductive insert received inside the nut. The conductive insert is configured to increase the retention force between the nut and the interface port so as to provide an electrical ground connection between the interface port and the nut when the nut is in a loosely tightened position on the interface port, and/or the conductive insert is configured to make the electrical ground connection with the interface port before a center conductor of the coaxial cable makes an electrical connection with an internal contact of the interface port when the nut is coupled with the interface port.

Coaxial cable connectors having port grounding

A connector for a coaxial cable includes a coupler portion configured to engage an interface port, a housing portion having a forward end configured to be disposed at least partially within the coupler portion, and an outer conductor engager portion made of a conductive material disposed within the housing portion. The housing portion includes a rearward end configured to receive the coaxial cable and is configured to move axially relative to a post that engages the outer conductor of the cable. An interior surface of the housing portion is configured to compress an insert of the post when the housing portion is moved axially relative to the post such that the outer conductor is compressed radially inward against an exterior surface of the insert of the post.

A coupler for a coaxial cable connector includes a nut including an internally threaded portion and an extension portion extending forwardly from the threaded portion; and a grounding cage slidingly coupled with the nut. An inner surface of the extension portion includes an annular groove, the grounding cage includes a rear ring portion disposed in the annular groove and configured to slide in the annular groove, and a forward portion of the grounding cage is configured to extend forwardly beyond a forward end of the nut.

A connector is provided for attachment to a coaxial cable. The connector includes, in one embodiment, a body and a compression ring. The body has a cable receiving end being configured to receive the end of the coaxial cable. The compression ring includes a forward sleeve portion and a rearward outer ring portion attached to one another by a plurality of tabs. The forward sleeve portion is configured to couple to the cable receiving end of the body. The plurality of tabs are configured to shear so as to separate the rearward outer ring portion from the forward sleeve portion when a torque for rotating the compression ring relative to the body exceeds a desired torque.

A coaxial cable connector includes a nut having a seal-grasping surface portion and a seal having an elastically deformable tubular body attached to the nut. The body has a posterior end with a sealing surface that cooperatively engages the seal-grasping surface portion of the nut and an anterior end with a forward sealing surface configured to cooperatively engage an interface port. The nut defines a first through hole extending in the longitudinal direction and configured to receive a center conductor of a coaxial cable. The anterior end of the seal defines a second through hole extending in the longitudinal direction and configured to receive a center conductor of a coaxial cable. A center axis of the first through hole and a center axis of the second through hole are offset from one another such that the anterior end the seal is configured to urge at least the center conductor of the coaxial cable to an off-center position of the second through hole when the nut is coupled with the interface port thereby creating radial interference between the nut and the interface port. The nut is urged to make contact with the interface port whenever mounted thereon, thus maintaining electrical grounding between the nut and the port, even when the nut is loosely coupled with the interface port.

Coaxial cable connector with integrated grounding member

A coaxial cable connector includes a body configured to engage a coaxial cable having a conductive electrical grounding property, a post configured to engage the body and the coaxial cable when the connector is installed on the coaxial cable, a nut configured to engage an interface port at a retention force, and a grounding member extending about the nut. The grounding member is configured to increase the retention force between the nut and the interface port so as to maintain an electrical ground connection between the interface port and the nut when the nut is in a loosely tightened position on the interface port.

A coaxial cable connector includes a body configured to engage a coaxial cable having a conductive electrical grounding property, a post configured to engage the body and the coaxial cable when the connector is installed on the coaxial cable, a nut assembly configured to engage an interface port at a first retention force, and a conductive insert configured to be coupled with the nut assembly. The conductive insert is configured to engage the interface port at a second retention force that is greater than the first retention force, and the conductive insert is configured to maintain electrical contact between the interface port and the nut assembly, even when the nut assembly is in a loosely tightened position on the interface port.

A connector includes a first connector body and a second connector body configured to be coupled to one another. The first connector body has a through hole and a cavity. The through hole and the cavity are configured to receive an aluminum shield of a hardline coaxial cable. A first washer is disposed in the first connector body and is configured to permit the aluminum shield to be pushed in a first direction through the through hole and into the cavity while resisting movement of the aluminum shield in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The second connector body has a through hole and a cavity. The through hole and the cavity of the second connector body are configured to receive a tubular member. A second washer is disposed in the second connector body and is configured to permit the tubular member to be pushed in the second direction through the through hole of the second connector body and into the cavity of the second connector body while resisting movement of the tubular member in the first direction.
