Described embodiments generally relate to an audio system comprising at least one display device configured to display images; at least two speakers configured to generate audio output; housing structure configured to accommodate the at least one display device and the at least one speaker, the housing structure defining at least one sound delivery aperture extending at least partially along at least two sides of a perimeter of the at least one display device; and a waveguide defined within the housing structure and configured to guide the audio output generated by the at least one speaker through the at least one sound delivery aperture.

An electronic musical instrument having combined monophonic and polyphonic sound producing capabilities includes a keyboard simultaneously operating a monophonic tone signal generating circuit and a polyphonic tone signal generating circuit. The tone signals produced by the tone generating circuits are combined and coupled through a single signal processing stage and therefrom to an output speaker. A gate signal for enabling the monophonic tone signal generating circuit and for operating the signal processing stage is derived at the output of a detector circuit which is responsive to the presence of an audio output from the polyphonic tone signal generating circuit.

An improved frequency sensitive circuit capable of adjusting one or more of its parameters in order to shunt an adjustable amount of electrical signal to a current sink, thereby controlling the amplitude of the signal. The frequency sensitive circuit is connected to the wiper of a potentiometer that is placed across the inputs of a difference amplifier in order to control the peak value of the cut or boost in the signal. The frequency sensitive circuit includes a shunt impedance connected between the wiper of the potentiometer and the current sink. A resonant circuit is connected to the impedance and is tuned to an adjustable resonant frequency. A compensation circuit, such as a difference amplifier referenced to the wiper, couples the output of the resonant circuit to the shunt impedance so that the impedance of the frequency sensitive circuit approaches infinity as the frequency of the electrical signal is displaced from the resonant frequency. As a result, the frequency sensitive circuit has substantially no effect on the overall amplitude of the electrical signal at frequencies widely displaced from the resonant frequency.
