The anti-loosen self-tapping screw includes a head, rod and a thread. The rod extends from the head and an end of the rod forms a conic tapping tip. The thread is around the rod from the tapping tip to a position near the head. The thread is provided with an axial groove to cut off the thread. The divided ends along one side of the groove are separately provided with expanded portions whose cross-sections are expanded.

Anti-loosen self-tapping screw

A fastening device includes a base, a first locking portion and a second locking portion. The base is received in a central slot of a heat sink for providing a spring force and attaching the heat sink to a CPU package. The first and second locking portions each form an opening for engaging corresponding projections formed on lateral edges of a socket connector. A pair of extending plates is formed on lateral edges of the second locking portion. The extending plates are folded in an &ldquo;L&rdquo; shape and face each other thereby forming a receiving space for receiving an external tool. A locking plate or a locking hole is formed in the second locking portion for engaging with a locking element.

Fastening device

An improved structure of a radiating fan comprises a blade seat, an axle center and a bearing. The central portion of the blade seat is installed with the axle center made of precision ceramic material, the outer peripheral surface of the axle center is covered by a hollow bearing made of precision ceramic material. Since the axle center and the bearing made of precision ceramic material have the advantages of long lifetime, low noise, and without using lubricating oil. Thus it is better than the axle center made of stainless steel and the oil bearing made of copper.

Structure of a radiating fan

A fastening device for a heat sink comprises a retaining element and an operating element. The retaining element is formed by stamping an elongated metal sheet and includes a spring portion which has a bifurcating portion extending from one end and a first latching arm depending perpendicularly from an opposite end. The bifurcating portion includes a pair of arms and an arcuate strip bending substantially upward and extending from between the arms. A pivot outwardly projects from the flank of the end of each arm of the bifurcating portion. The operating element is formed by stamping an elongated metal sheet and includes a second latching arm and a manual operating portion which are perpendicular to each other. A pair of pivoting sections each defining a pivot opening extends perpendicular to and from substantially the middle of opposite edges of the second latching arm of the operating element. A first latch opening is defined adjacent to the free end of the first latching arm of the retaining element and a second latch opening is defined adjacent to the free end of the second latching arm of the operating element, each latching a tab on an opposite side of a socket when used to fasten a heat sink to a CPU and socket.

Fastening device for a heat sink

A fan duct for dissipating heat generated by a central processing unit of a computer is disclosed. The fan duct has a main body defining an air inlet and an air outlet. An electrical fan is mounted to the main body below the air outlet. A knob is attached to a top wall of the main body and located above the fan. An enclosure of the computer includes a back panel and a top cover. The top cover is attached with a hook. The fan duct is firstly assembled to the back panel by extending screws through the back panel to threadedly engage with the fan duct. The top cover is then mounted to the back panel to reach a finally assembled position in which the hook engages with the knob, whereby a portion of a weight of the fan is supported by the hook.

Fan duct for dissipating heat of a CPU of a computer

A fan duct induces an air flow generated by a fan of a lower supply of a computer to flow simultaneously through at least two heat-generating components of the computer. The fan dut is formed by plastic injection molding to have a cuboidal configuration, defining a first opening in alignment with the fan, a second opening proximate a first heat-generating component, and a third opening proximate a second heat-generating component when the fan duct is mounted in the computer at a predetermined position. When the fan is operated in a direction to draw air from the computer, an air flow is generated to simultaneously flow through the two heat-generating components and into the fan duct via the second and third openings. The heated air is then expelled out of the fan duct via the first opening to reach an exterior of the computer.

Heat dissipation enhancing device

The present invention provides a fastening device for attaching a heat sink to an electronic device package. The fastening device is unitarily formed to include a fastener and a C-shaped spring member. The spring member includes a center section and a pair of arcuate arms extending from opposite ends of the center section. The fastener perpendicularly extends from the center section. The spring member has a depressed surface for facilitating manual actuation. Each arm has a C-shaped flange at a distal end thereof.

An integrally formed clip comprises first and second engaging legs for engaging with a socket, a folded first squeezing portion for exerting an inward squeezing force, a folded second squeezing portion opposing the first squeezing portion for exerting an inward squeezing force and a downward pressing force, and a curved spring portion. The first squeezing portion includes an outside face upwardly extending from the first engaging leg and an inside face connected with the spring portion. The second squeezing portion connects to an opposite end of the spring portion and is L-shaped, comprising a vertical first folded section accepting an inward squeezing force and a horizontal second folded section for accepting a downward pressing force. The second engaging leg depends downward from the second operation section. Alternatively, the first squeezing portion can be identical to the second squeezing portion.

Clip for heat sink

A retention mechanism for securely engaging a heat sink with a CPU module comprises a base plate and a guiding member. The base plate has a H-shaped main body and two pairs of mounting legs upwardly extending from corners thereof for engaging with a CPU module and a heat sink. Each mounting leg forms a resilient tip on a free end thereof and a pair of cutouts proximate the resilient tip. The guiding member forms a shaft and a pair of latching arms outwardly extending from opposite ends of the shaft. A pair of elongate engaging slots is defined in each latching arm corresponding to the mounting legs. A receiving aperture is defined in communication with each engaging slot for insertion of the tip of the corresponding mounting leg therethrough. A pair of engaging tabs is formed on opposite sides of each engaging slot for engaging with the corresponding cutouts of the mounting legs.

Retention mechanism for heat sink

A tape holder that dispenses tape sections with non-sticky or adhered portions at both ends, includes a base, a feed device disposed at a tape exit of the base, a side cutter gate disposed at one side of the feed device, and an auxiliary tape support connected to the feed device. The base has a tape receiving recess for receiving a large adhesive tape reel and a small substrate tape reel such that the adhesive side of the adhesive tape faces the substrate tape below. Both tapes may be pulled at at the same time and placed at the feed device where a portion of the tapes are pressed to form adhered portions. The side cutter gate has a cutting edge that cuts the substrate tape below or both tapes at the same time. After a desirable length of the adhesive tape has been pulled out, another adhered portion can be formed at the other end of the length. The auxiliary tape support is provided with serrations and may be connected to the front side of the base where the feed device is located to cut the tape as ordinary tape holders.

A non-electromagnetic interference generating cooling fan includes a case, an impeller pivotally fitted within the case and formed with a cylindrical recess, a magnetic conductive sleeve fixedly arranged within the cylindrical recess thereby enclosing a bottom and vertical surface of the cylindrical recess, an annular ring-like rotor made of permanent magnet fixedly fitted within the sleeve, a stator fitted within the rotor, and a multi-layer printed circuit board fixedly mounted on a top of the stator and within the case, whereby the rotor and stator are enclosed within a magnetic conductive device so as to prevent the magnetic lines of force from getting out of the fan thereby keeping a computer from electromagnetic interference.

A fixing device for securing a heat sink to a CPU module includes a base plate, two elastic side plates respectively extending from two distal ends of the base plate, two curved portions formed between the base plate and the two elastic side plates for increasing elasticity of the fixing device when the two elastic side plates are expanded outward with respect to a central axis therebetween, two hooks respectively formed at free ends of the elastic side plates for securing to a backplane of the CPU module thereby sandwiching the heat sink between the fixing device and the CPU module, and two is engagement tabs respectively formed on the elastic side plates for allowance of an external tool to release the fixing device from the CPU module.

Fixing device for securing a heat sink to a CPU module

A heat sink mounting device for closely attaching a heat sink to a CPU which has been mounted to an electrical connector, consists of two mounting ears formed on the electrical connector. A clip has an arced middle portion pressing the heat sink toward the CPU, a first arm vertically extending from an end of the middle portion to fixedly engage with one of the mounting ears, and a second arm defining a handle portion for receiving a pressing force. A flap has an upper end pivotably engaging with the second arm and a lower end fixedly engaging with the other mounting ear.

Device for fastening heat sink to CPU

A cooling device for a CPU module includes an attachment plate fixed to the module and in contact with a CPU in the module. The attachment plate defines an elongate hole. A spring plate has two arms. A heat sink has a number of heat dissipating fins projecting from a base plate, wherein a portion of the fins have engaging teeth formed at free ends thereof. A mounting rod has a cross-slotted head and a tail formed with a locking tongue. A fan mounting plate is formed with two engaging teeth. A fan is screwed to the fan mounting plate. To assemble the cooling device, the locking tongue is extended through the spring, the heat sink and the elongate hole of the attachment plate and then rotated 90 degrees to engage an inner face of the attachment plate where the two arms of the spring are pressed to push the rod away from the heat sink whereby the heat sink and the attachment plate are fixedly connected. The mounting plate is then pressed onto the heat sink to cause the engaging teeth of the mounting plate to fixedly engage with the engaging teeth of the corresponding heat dissipating fins of the heat sink.

Cooling device for central processing unit module

A clipping device for attaching a heat sink to an electrical device comprises an elongate biasing strip and a pivotal grasp pivotally connected to an end of the biasing strip. Interconnecting retaining device between the biasing strip and the pivotal grasp to pivotally attach the pivotal grasp to the biasing strip, includes a slot defined in the latch tab and a head portion formed on the biasing strip. The head portion includes a tongue portion and a neck portion. The tongue portion includes at least a wing extending transversely therefrom, wherein the wing is deformed to offset from a horizontal side of the slot after insertion thereof, thereby securely retaining the head portion within the slot.
