Fluorinated nitriles as dielectric gases

Partially fluorinated ketones are provided that include a terminal alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms bonded to a carbonyl group and a hydrofluoroether moiety having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms that contains at least one hydrogen substituent. The hydrofluoroether moiety is bonded to the carbonyl group with a carbon-carbon bond. The ether oxygen is bonded to a carbon atom that is at least two carbon atoms removed from the carbonyl group. Additionally, a fluorinated alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms is bonded to the ether oxygen of the hydrofluoroether moiety. These partially fluorinated ketones can be used in a wide variety of electronics applications.

Partially fluorinated ketones and methods of making and using the same

Fluorinated coatings having a lubricious additive, articles with the fluorinated coatings, and methods of making articles with the fluorinated coatings are provided. More specifically, the fluorinated coatings are prepared from a curable coating composition that includes both a fluorinated silane and a fluorinated polyether oil. The curable coating composition is typically applied adjacent to a siliceous substrate and then cured. The resulting cured articles can have an outer surface that has a good tactile response, that is abrasion resistant, that is easy to clean, or a combination thereof.

A water contact angle of the polymeric hexafluoropropylene oxide derived silane coating decreases by less than about 27% after being subjected to 10000 abrasion cycles.

A moisture-curable polysiloxane composition consists essentially of (a) at least one polyorganosiloxane, fluorinated polyorganosiloxane, or combination thereof comprising reactive silane functionality comprising at least one hydrosilyl moiety; and (b) at least one base selected from amidines, guanidines, phosphazenes, proazaphosphatranes, and combinations thereof; wherein the curable composition is non-foaming and has an average condensation-curable, reactive silane functionality greater than two.

A fluorochemical derived from monomers with a side chain, wherein the side chain includes a perfluoroalkyl group with 1-6 carbon atoms and a hydrocarbon spacer group attached to the perfluoroalkyl group, wherein the spacer group has 15-50 carbon atoms. The perfluoroalkyl group is non-crystallizable at room temperature and the spacer group is crystallizable at room temperature.

Cyclic hydrofluoroether compounds and processes for their preparation and use

Presently described is a composition comprising at least one first divalent unit comprising a pendant perfluoropolyether or perfluoroalkyl group; at least one second divalent unit comprising a pendant phosphorus-containing acid group; and at least one third unit comprising a terminal or pendant alkoxy silane group. Also described is a coating comprising the composition described herein dissolved or dispersed in a solvent and a method of providing a coated article or surface. Such method is particularly useful for providing corrosion protection to a metallic surface.
