An isolation amplification circuit having an input stage circuitry and a control circuitry stage interconnected through a galvanic isolation barrier. The input stage circuitry includes a first filter network and a second filter network for supplying first and second output signals in response to the application of first and second electrical input signals. The input stage circuitry includes a first feedback path configured for applying a first feedback signal to a common node of the first filter network to close a first feedback loop around the first filter network and a second feedback path configured for applying a second feedback signal to a common node of the second filter network to close a second feedback loop around the second filter network.

Isolation amplification circuit with improved common mode rejection

This disclosure provides isolation for a medical amplifier by providing a low impedance path for noise across an isolation barrier. The low impedance path can include a capacitive coupling between a patient ground, which is isolated from control circuitry, and a functional ground of an isolation system that is isolated from earth ground. The low impedance path can draw noise current from an input of an amplifier of patient circuitry.

Medical amplifier isolation

An electrical stimulation system to provide pulse stimulation to an area of a living body by way of one or more electrode leads applied to the area, the area including an associated resistance element and an associated capacitance element. The system may include a pulse generating circuit having a controllable output voltage to generate constant voltage pulses to the one or more electrode leads, wherein the corresponding current signal of each constant voltage pulse includes an exponential decay to a steady state current value. The system may include a controller configured to estimate the associated resistance element of the area, determine a specified target steady state current value to be applied to the area, and control the pulse generating circuit to generate a constant voltage pulse to the one or more electrode leads at a calculated voltage level which achieves the specified target steady state current value to the area.

Electrical stimulation system with pulse control

A fluid dispensing apparatus includes a pulse generator coupled to a pump that operates in discrete cycles. Each cycle includes a first part in which fluid is drawn into the pump through an inlet, and a second part in which fluid is expelled from the pump through an outlet. Each cycle results in a discrete, consistent volume of fluid being expelled. The pulse generator transmits discrete pulses to the pump, causing the pump to operate for a set number of cycles per pulse. The total number of cycles is a multiple of the number of pulses transmitted, so that the number of pulses determines the volume of fluid dispensed. Alternatively, the pump is driven through increments of the second part of the cycle, with the number of pulses supplied to the pump determining the proportion of the second part of the cycle completed, and therefore the volume of fluid dispensed.

Fluid dispensing system suitable for dispensing liquid flavorings

An apparatus and method for dispensing a discrete volume of fluid. The apparatus includes a pump operable in discrete cycles, a power source connected to the pump, and a controller connected to at least one of the pump and the power source. The controller is configured to vary the power provided from the power source to the pump during at least a portion of each discrete cycle based on characteristics of the pump and the fluid. For example, the controller may vary power by controlling the duration of the provision of power, or by controlling the amplitude of the power. Varying the power is intended to improve the accuracy of the discrete volume of fluid dispensed. Correspondingly, the method of dispensing a discrete volume of fluid includes receiving information pertaining to the fluid to be dispensed, and adjusting a provision of power to a pump based on the information. The method may include adjusting the duration of the provision of power, or adjusting the amplitude of the provision of power.

A signal management system is disclosed which integrates a patient switching box and an amplification unit into a single compact enclosure sufficiently small to reside by the patient table in an operating unit set up for electrophysiology procedures. The system includes a front panel designed to accept standard ECG leads, a plurality of intracardiac leads, including leads available for stimulation and/or lesion generation, and a plurality of pressure channels. The front panel also includes a touch screen display to allow quick assignments of labels to each of the ECG or intracardiac leads and the pressure channels. The system includes an onboard microprocessor which allows any operation performed on the System to be automatically updated on a remote computer processing unit if attached, and vice-versa. Digital signal processors are used in the system to perform switching operations on the electrical signals received, and to perform gain, limiting and/or filtering processes thereon. The digital signal processors are automatically calibrated to adjust for varying gain and phase performance of the inputting front-end amplifiers which deliver the electrical signals from the intracardiac leads.

A system for monitoring contents of a tray located beneath a basket of a shopping cart as the latter is passed through an aisle adjacent a checkout station having a point of sale terminal capable of receiving a signal through a communications interface which signal prevents completion of a transaction unless overridden by operator input of one of a product and an override code. The system includes apparatus adjacent the aisle for detecting and signalling presence of the cart in the aisle, apparatus adjacent the aisle for scanning a space above the tray of the cart to detect and signal the presence of objects thereon, and apparatus responsive to signals from both said cart detection apparatus and the object detection apparatus to output said signal to the communications interface of the terminal, thereby forcing the operator to enter one of a product and an override code.
