A modular louvered shutter includes first and second stiles and a center section assembled using a tongue and groove joint. The center section is a solid piece having a plurality of rails and louvers cut into the center section.

A shutter assembly having at least one rigid edge and at least one hanger edge is described. The rigid edge provides stability to the shutter assembly and the hanger edge allows the shutter assembly to be mounted to a dwelling. The shutter assembly can be formed in an open mold from a cementitious slurry comprising gypsum cement and water. A reinforcing mat or fiber can be disposed in the mold and saturated with the cementitious slurry. A tool disposed adjacent the mold and including a plurality of rotatable sections can be used to form the rigid edge and the hanger edge.

Cement shutter

A shutter assembly mounts adjacent an opening of a building. The shutter assembly includes a right stile and a left stile disposed in a spaced and parallel opposing relationship with one another and each having a U-shaped cross section presenting a base and side walls. The side walls extend from the base to spaced distal edges to define a channel open at each end of the respective stiles. A top rail and a bottom rail extend in a spaced and parallel opposing relationship between the bases of the stiles. The top rail is disposed in one of the open ends of each of the stiles and the bottom rail is disposed in the other open ends of each of the stiles. Each of the rails define a glue manifold for distributing an adhesive onto the rails and into the channels for securing the rails to the stiles.

A modular louvered shutter includes first and second stiles and a center section assembled using a tongue and groove joint. The center section is a solid piece have a plurality of rails and louvers cut into the center section.

Method of manufacturing a modular shutter assembly

A saw table includes a clamping mechanism for clamping a work piece on the saw table. The clamping mechanism includes a clamping bar having a first end and a second end. A longitudinal axis is defined between the first and second ends. A first pivoting arm is operatively connected to one of the ends of the clamping bar to support the clamping bar for rotation about a pivot axis. A biasing device biases the clamping bar about the pivot axis to clamp the work piece between the clamping bar and a table base.

Saw table and clamping mechanism therefor

A shutter assembly mounts to a building and includes a right stile and a left stile disposed in spaced opposing relationship with one another. A first bar is mounted to the right stile and presents at least one recess facing outwardly away from the right stile for receiving a decorative member. A second bar opposing the first bar is mounted to the left stile and presents at least one recess facing and opposing the recess of the first bar for receiving the decorative member. The first and second bars each have at least one biasing device extending into the respective recesses of the first and second bars and engage the decorative member for biasing the decorative member outwardly away from the respective stiles to prevent movement of the decorative member relative to the stiles.

Functional shutter

A saw table assembly for cutting a workpiece with a saw. A pair of rails for supporting a working surface and a track. The suitable work surface includes a first group and a second group of table sections with extension rails disposed within the table sections. A coupling assembly, disposed at the center of the rails, for supporting the saw track. The saw track can slide longitudinally and pivot back and forth about the coupling assembly. The coupling assembly including a cam which has three different operating positions.

Saw table

For use in a decorative molding system comprising thin flexible plastic molding strips having clips thereon and flexible tracks engaged by the clips, a plastic corner member provided between the adjacent plastic molding strips and forming a corner for receiving a pair of the plastic molding strips having free ends with their longitudinal axis forming an angle at a corner of a room. The plastic corner member comprises a one piece plastic body having side walls intersecting at substantially the same angle as the angle formed by the edges of said ends of adjacent plastic molding strips. Each wall has substantially the same undulating cross sectional configuration as the adjacent plastic molding strips. Each wall has an upper free edge, a lower free edge and a vertical free edge, an outer surface and an inner surface. A flexible plastic clip is attached to each the wall. Each clip has first end and a second free end. The first end is attached to its respective wall intermediate the upper free edge of the wall and the lower free edge of the wall and the second free end of the clip is attached to each the wall extending at an acute angle to the wall of the corner member from the point of attachment. Each free end of each clip on the wall of the corner member interengages the track and holds the corner member in contact with the adjacent molding strips.

Decorative molding strip system

A decorative molding system removably installed at a ceiling and a vertical wall. The molding system includes a thin molding strip of flexible plastic and a plurality of flexible plastic clips attached at spaced points along the back surface points of the molding strip. A wall track of flexible plastic is mounted adjacent the upper edge of the track on one of the ceiling and said vertical wall. Interengagement is provided on the free end of the clip and the track such that when the thin molding strip with the flexible plastic clips attached thereto is mounted on the track by relative movement, the free end of the clip is moved into the gap and the forward leading edge of the track is engaged. At the juncture of adjacent molding strips, one of the molding strips is provided with a complementary shaped plastic segment spaced from the internal surface of the molding strip to provide a cavity. The other of the molding strips is provided with an axial plastic segment that has a projection of the same configuration adapted to extend into the cavity of an adjacent strip so that adjacent molding strips abut one another with the segment that extends into the cavity of an adjacent strip.

A decorative molding system removably installed at a juncture of a ceiling and a vertical wall, said molding system comprising a plurality of thin molding strips of flexible plastic having a length and an upper free edge, a lower free edge, a front surface and a back surface. The upper free edge is adapted to lie against one of the ceiling and the vertical wall along a line spaced from the juncture of the ceiling and vertical wall and flex relative thereto. The lower free edge is adapted to lie against the other of the ceiling and the vertical wall along a line spaced from the juncture of the ceiling and vertical wall and flex relative thereto. A corner in the room is formed by a first flexible molding strip mounted along a first wall and extends toward the corner of an intersection with an adjacent second wall. An adjacent second flexible molding strip is mounted on the adjacent second wall. The adjacent second molding strip has a free edge cut to a configuration corresponding to the configuration of the cross section of the first flexible molding strip after it is in tensioned position on the wall, such that when the second molding strip is placed into position on the second wall, the cross section of the second flexible molding strip changes from the untensioned position to a tensioned position substantially the same as the cross section of the tensioned first molding strip on the first wall.

A decorative molding for a corner formed by a ceiling and a vertical wall comprises a thin strip of flexible plastic and is secured to the wall by an attachment allowing the molding strip along its upper and lower edges to be flexible to conform with uneven surfaces in the ceiling and/or wall. In one form the strip is attached to the wall by an adhesive. In another form, a wall track and clip arrangement is utilized to provide easy removal from the wall for paint or wallpaper application. A corner element is provided in one form in which ends of the strips are adhesively secured thereto in overlapping engagement. In another embodiment, the strips are telescopically connected to the corner element.

Decorative molding strip method

An octagonal plastic window assembly is provided for mounting to an exterior surface of the building wall or doer. The window includes two spaced window panes, one of which is glass and the other plastic. An exterior trim ring is provided to circumscribe the window to give a finished appearance to the exterior of the window. An octagonal liner assembly is provided comprising a plurality of interconnected liner panels connected together by a snap fit and received within a rough opening in a building wall or door. An interior trim ring is provided for attachment to the liner assembly to give a finished appearance to the interior side of the building wall or door. The plastic window assembly can be installed without the use of fasteners.
