Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to improved sound attenuation configurations and methods of manufacturing the same. An example embodiment includes a low noise climate control device. This device may include a housing and a noise producing component within the housing. Further, the device may include an acoustic metamaterial stack arranged in the housing. The acoustic metamaterial stack may include a perforated layer arranged over a spacer layer, and the spacer layer arranged over another perforated layer. Each of the perforated layers may include a plurality of perforations creating a percentage of open area (POA). The perforated layers may further include set(s) of sheets that each including a plurality of openings. These set(s) of sheets may be arranged such that the plurality of openings in the sheets for each perforated layer are coordinate to create the plurality of perforations in each of the perforated layers.

Tunable acoustic metamaterials for sound dampening of HVAC equipment

Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to improved HVAC devices and kits for HVAC devices that improve the sound attenuation associated with the device, particularly low-frequency noise. An example embodiment includes an improved furnace including a housing with a combustion air chamber, a heat exchanger chamber, and a circulation blower chamber, wherein the combustion air chamber comprises a burner assembly and a combustion air fan, the furnace also includes a sound attenuation layer including a first acoustic metamaterial layer coupled to the combustion air chamber and tuned to attenuate sound for a first frequency band, one or more housing openings fluidly connecting the combustion air chamber to an environment outside the housing, wherein the sound attenuation layer includes a discontinuous section that aligns with one or more of the housing openings.

A protective housing structure for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system comprises a first end and a second end with a centerline extending there between. The protecting housing structure includes a cover section that is located between the first end and second end. The cover section comprises a dome-shaped top panel that is rigidly attached to a first sidewall and a second sidewall.

A method includes providing a cabinet configured to receive a blower assembly, inserting a blower assembly into the air duct, and closing a cabinet door of the cabinet, wherein upon closing the cabinet door, the primary air flow path from a location within the cabinet downstream of the blower assembly to a location within the cabinet upstream of the blower assembly is through a blower housing of the blower assembly. A blower assembly has a blower housing comprising at least one air inlet and at least one air outlet and a blower deck extending from the outlet, wherein the blower deck comprises at least one substantially flat component having a substantially orthogonal wall extending from the flat component.

An air cleaning system has a field charger comprising a plurality of bars comprising a conductive inner core and a non-conductive overmold, and a plurality of pins attached to the bars and extending out of the non-conductive overmold. The conductive inner core is molded over the plurality of pins, conductively connecting the pins, and the non-conductive overmold is molded over the conductive inner core. A method of manufacturing the field charger includes placing a plurality of metal pins in a mold, placing contact points in the mold, molding a conductive resin over at least a portion of the plurality of pins and contact points, molding an insulating resin over the inner core, plurality of pins, and contact points, wherein at least a portion of the pins and contact points extend from the non-conductive overmold, and mounting an earthplate to the conductive overmold.

Systems and methods for cleaning air

A protective housing structure for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a first end and a second end with a centerline extending there between. The protecting housing structure includes a cover section that is located between the first end and second end. The cover section includes a dome-shaped top panel that is rigidly attached to a first sidewall and a second sidewall.

Described herein are embodiments of a top cover for an outdoor HVAC unit. The top cover may comprise a dome-shaped top surface; outer edges surrounding the dome-shaped top surface; at least one ventilated grille disposed between the outer edges and the outdoor unit; and a plurality of channels configured to drain water from the dome-shaped top surface and away from the at least one ventilated grille.

An air handling unit has a first modular cabinet comprising a first profile, a second modular cabinet comprising a second profile that is complementary to the first profile, and the first profile comprises an alignment feature. An air handling unit has a heat exchanger cabinet comprising a first profile, a blower cabinet comprising a second profile complementary to the first profile, a first connector system disposed at least partially on each of the heat exchanger cabinet and the blower cabinet, and the first connector system is operable to releasably secure the first profile to the second profile. An air handling unit has a first modular cabinet comprising a first portion of a first connection system and a second modular cabinet comprising a second portion of the first connection system. A component of the first portion may be least partially received within the second portion.
