A work machine comprises an operator station, a filter door, and a fresh air filter to filter fresh air that flows from outside the operator station into the operator station. The fresh air filter is mounted to the filter door for movement therewith relative to the operator station. An associated method is disclosed.

A control system for a construction vehicle, such as a motor grader, is provided. The control system includes a plurality of joysticks supported by an operator seat assembly of the motor grader.

Joystick configuration

A fuel cell assembly includes a manifold having a plurality of fuel cell connecting zones. At least some of the zones have differing characteristics such as area and arrangement of electrical connections and inlet and outlet ports corresponding to differing electrical power capacities. The assembly also includes one or more fuel cell stacks. At least some of the stacks have differing electrical power capacities, differing characteristics corresponding to the differing characteristics of the manifold zone, and corresponding differing arrangements of electrical connections and inlet and outlet ports. These differing characteristics are designed so that a fuel cell stack of a particular capacity can be connected only to a manifold zone corresponding to such capacity.

Fuel cell assembly system

Crop severing and gathering structure is pivotally connected to the forward end of a cotton row unit housing adjacent a row receiving area. A cutter severs the lower portion of cotton plants offset from the row receiving area of the row unit. A conveyer includes a pair of opposed belts with gripping features which embrace the lower portions of the stems of the cotton plants and move the severed plants in a generally upright position into the row of standing plants that is entering the row receiving area. The severed cotton plants intertwine with the standing row at the front of the housing as the conveyor moves the plants against one side of the row. The standing row with intertwined plants enters the row receiving area, and tandem picking drums located on the same side of the row as the severing and gathering structure remove cotton from both the standing row and the severed plants. The opposed belts have surfaces which enhance the gripping and conveying of the severed plants, and rotating brushes above the cutters help gather and hold the plants in the upright position for cutting. The pivotal connection allows the severing and gathering structure to be adjusted to the desired lateral position for a given plant spacing and to be lifted out of the way for convenient access to areas in and near the housing, including access to the row unit door structure. Plant gatherers at the leading end of the severing and gathering structure can be adjusted for alignment with the forward direction when the lateral position of the structure is adjusted for different plant spacings.

A mulching mower mechanism, having an inverted U-shaped channel member positioned within the outer periphery of a cutting chamber of a mower deck for generally confining the clippings circulating at the outer periphery of the cutting chamber. The channel member extends generally across the mower deck's discharge outlet for generally diverting the stream of clippings away from the outlet and thereby serves to maintain the clippings within the deck to be re-cut by the blade. The channel member includes an upper and outer wall portions positioned adjacent the discharge outlet for generally blocking the clippings and air within the channel from exiting the discharge outlet. The channel member also includes an inner wall portion which separates the stream of clippings from the relatively clean air circulating within the inner portion of the deck. The discharge outlet is in fluid communication with the inner portion of the cutting chamber for allowing the clean air to exit the cutting chamber via the discharge outlet, thereby maintaining an updraft within the cutting chamber.

Mulching mower mechanism

A mower cutting unit is provided with a rear-mounted grass catcher. The cutting unit includes front and rear rollers and mounted between the rear roller and the grass catcher is a rotary brush. The brush is mounted for adjustment into and away from engagement with the rear roller and for adjustment into and away from engagement with the turf. The brush may be driven either in the same direction as or counter to the direction of rotation of the rear roller during forward mowing operation. When driven counter to the direction as the rear roller, the brush may either be positioned for only cleaning clippings from the rear roller and depositing them into the grass catcher or be positioned for additionally sweeping the turf. When the brush is driven in the same direction of rotation as the rear roller, it operates, depending on its positional relationship to the rear roller and turf, to either only clean the rear roller, to clean the rear roller while sweeping the turf to disperse clippings or to just sweep the turf to disperse clippings.
