A keyboard support mechanism is disclosed as including an improved arrangement for supporting a trolley of such mechanism for movement relative to a guide track by which the mechanism is mounted on a work station. The trolley is fitted with two pairs of rollers arranged to roll lengthwise of the guide track within a pair of edge mounted mounting channels thereof and a follower; and the guide track is fitted with guide member having a guide channel adapted to slidably receive the follower while preventing movement of the trolley transversely of the guide channel. The guide channel extends rearwardly of a front end of the guide track, whereby to cooperate with the follower to stabilize an auxiliary surface on which a keyboard is supported against undesired transverse or sidewise movement when in its extended use position, while permitting loose fitting of the trolley within the guide track during a substantial portion of its movement of the auxiliary surface to an from its rearward storage position.

Keyboard mechanism tracking system

A mechanism for supporting a component, such as a CPU, below a support, includes a support member mounted to depend from the support and being adapted to undergo both horizontally directed sliding movement and pivotal movement about a vertically disposed pivot axis relative thereto, a pair of straps having first and second ends, and a strap tension adjustment device carried by the support member, wherein second ends of the straps are removably fixed to the support member and first ends of the straps are fixed to the tension adjustment device, such that the straps are suspended below the support member as U-shaped loops sized to receive the component therewithin, and the tension adjustment device is manually operable to releasably shorten the lengths of the loops for clamping the component in position relative the support member. The component may be selectively mounted such that its major side surfaces or panels are arranged either normal or parallel to a lower surface of the support.

Holder for supporting a component below a support

A mechanism for use in controlling vertical movement of a surface, such as a table top, supported for movement between upper and lower vertical positions, including a counterbalance mechanism for counterbalancing at least part of the weight of the surface and/or a weight placed thereon, and a brake mechanism for releasably retaining the surface in a selected vertical position. The counterbalance mechanism includes a member having a first end supported for pivotal movement about a first axis and a spring tending to opposed pivotal movement of the member in a direction corresponding to lowering movement of the surface; and the brake mechanism includes a brake rod having one end supported for pivotal movement about a second axis disposed parallel to the first axis and a brake rod clamping mechanism supported by the member for pivotal movement about a third axis disposed parallel to the first axis and supported by the brake rod for movement lengthwise thereof with the clamping mechanism normally clamping against the brake rod to prevent pivot movement of the member in the direction corresponding to lowering movement of the surface, and an operator for manually releasing the clamping mechanism from clamping engagement with the brake rod.

Counterbalanced table mechanism

A mounting assembly is disclosed for mounting an auxiliary device, such as a keyboard support or work surface, for vertical movement relative to a support, such as a desk top. The assembly permits upwardly directed movement of the auxiliary device while releasably constraining downwardly directed movement relative to the support, and includes a linkage assembly coupled with a brake assembly fixed relative to the support. The auxiliary device is released for downwardly directed movement by manually operated paddle coupled with the brake assembly and movable with the auxiliary device.

Adjustable work surface

An adjustable support is provided for removably supporting a laptop computer relative to a table top for relative vertical and tilting movements. The computer is clampingly secured to a platform, which is in turn supported for vertical tilting movement relative to a bracket. The bracket is supported for vertical adjustment relative to a midportion of a pair of support arms having their free ends arrayed to engage with upwardly and downwardly facing surfaces of the table top.

Laptop computer support

A counterbalance mechanism for vertically positioning a load includes auxiliary linkage means associated with an upper end of the mechanism for carrying a load and automatically varying the vertical angular orientation of the load incident to vertical movement of the load.

Counterbalance mechanism

A mechanism for use in counterbalancing a shelf or the like incident to vertical movement thereof along a trackway featuring a linkage assembly and coupling assemblies for effecting a relatively large displacement of the shelf incident to a relatively small displacement of a shelf counterbalance spring. The shelf is mounted on the trackway by followers carrying a manual brake releasably engageable with the trackway.

Furniture having a top or the like supported for vertical movement by telescopic leg supports is provided with a counterbalance mechanism for exerting a relative uniform counterbalance force on the top throughout its range of vertical movement, a latch mechanism for releasably latching the top in selected vertical positions, and an adjustable roller guide mechanism for coupling telescopic elements of the leg supports.

Keyboard support

A straight line motion mechanism is formed from a pair of parallelogram linkage mechanisms in combination with motion control means interconnecting the linkage mechanisms to provide for uniform angular displacement thereof. The mechanism is particularly adapted for use in supporting an object, such as a table top, for vertically directed stepwise movement or one step shifting between lower and upper reference positions corresponding to table top heights convenient for use alternatively by a person in seated and standing positions. In a preferred embodiment, means are provided to enable a user to selectively make fine adjustments of the height of the table top after it has been shifted into either of such lower and upper reference positions.

Straight line motion mechanism

A mechanism is disclosed for use in supporting a keyboard in a desired adjustable position relative to a CRT unit at a work station. The mechanism is adapted for attachment to the downwardly facing surface of a suitable horizontal support arranged at various levels or distances from a floor; and is characterized as being capable of mounting a keyboard for horizontally directed movements between storage or retracted and use or extended positions and for vertically directed movements into maximum upper and lower use positions in opposite directions from an intermediate or reference position normally assumed by the keyboard when in its storage position, wherein means are provided to automatically move the keyboard from its upper position into its intermediate position incident to movement of the keyboard horizontally towards its storage position.

Adjustable keyboard supporting mechanism

Mechanisms are disclosed for use in supporting keyboards in desired adjusted positions relative to a CRT unit supporting table or work station. A first form of the mechanism provides a retracted position for a keyboard, wherein it is disposed beneath a table top and recessed rearwardly of a front end thereof. Additional forms of the mechanism are adapted for use with work stations of the type having a generally U-shaped work surface, wherein the keyboard is intended to be supported on a shelf arranged between the opposite end, forwardly protruding surface areas of such work surface.

A lift mechanism provides for movement of a platform, or the like, vertically within a cabinet between use and storage positions and is characterized as featuring a compact supporting and guide structure, wherein electrical controls defining the extent of vertical movement of the platform are carried for movement therewith. A safety mechanism is provided to interconnect cabinet lid lifting/lowering stay arms to the platform in a manner serving to prevent pinching of the fingers of a user by the lid, as the latter is moved into a cabinet closed position incident to movement of the platform into its storage position.

Motorized lift mechanism

A multi-position, wall avoiding reclining chair assembly having a unitized metal frame construction and featuring an improved linkage for supporting a chair seat for forwardly directed movement relative to a chair supporting base, as the chair assumes an intermediate reclined or TV position. The chair assembly also features an improved mechanism permitting the application of pressure to a back rest to initiate movement of the chair seat and a foot rest relative to the chair supporting base between their upright and reclined positions without producing substantial coincident rearwardly directed reclining movements of the back rest relative to the chair seat. After the chair seat and foot rest are disposed in their reclined positions to define the intermediate reclined or TV position of the chair, the application of pressure to the back rest will effect movement thereof into its reclined position to thereby define the fully reclined position of the chair.
