A liquid-cooled welding torch assembly for use in robotic welding that includes a body tube with a set of male connectors, the body tube guiding an electrode, and a flow of coolant to a welding tip. A supply cable adapter including a set of female connectors corresponding to the set of male connectors. At least one of the male connectors includes a rigid tube with a plurality of axially compressible and radially expandable sealing members coaxially and slidably disposed about the rigid tube, whereby the plurality of axially compressible and radially expandable sealing members expand to create a seal between the at least one of the male connectors and a corresponding one of the set of female connectors.

Liquid-cooled welding torch assembly

An automatic welder is used in an internal welder unit which travels along the interior of a pipeline and welds the abutting ends of the pipe segments together. The automatic welder has a carriage assembly that contains a laser source for producing a laser beam, first and second line-up clamp assemblies for aligning the respective abutting ends of the pipe segments together, at least one laser beam conductor, or alternatively a reflecting surface positioned between said first and second line-up clamp assemblies along the axis of said beam, for directing said beam to the abutting ends of said first and second pipe segments, and a drive for rotating the reflecting surface around the axis of said beam to direct the beam to the abutting ends of said pipe segments for welding said pipe segments together. The automatic welder can also be configured as an external welder in which the automatic welder carrying a laser source is carried on a track mounted on the outside of the pipeline. As the external welder orbits around the pipeline, the laser source generates a laser beam which is directed at the junction of the abutting ends of the pipe segments for welding them together. Arc and laser beads can be combined to form a composite welding joint.

Arc and laser welding process for pipeline

An automatic external welder travels on tracks which are attached to the exterior surface of the pipeline and functions to weld together the abutting ends of pipe segments. The automatic welder has a carriage assembly that includes a laser source for producing a laser beam for performing the welding operation at the weld region. The laser source is positioned in a first embodiment to produce a laser beam which is parallel to the axis of the pipe and is reflected for direction to the weld joint. In a second embodiment, the laser source is positioned on the carriage such that the laser beam is directed without deflection to the welding junction. For each embodiment, the laser source is carried by the carriage assembly so that it orbits about the pipeline to produce a complete weld of the abutting pipe ends.

External laser welder for pipeline

An automatic welder is used in an internal welder unit which travels along the interior of a pipeline and welds the abutting ends of the pipe segments together. An ornamental assembly for use in a non-aquatic viewing cage of the like is disclosed. The ornamental assembly includes a body member formed from a natural indiscriminate piece of driftwood and a fastening assembly for semi-permanently fixably securing the body member to any surface of the viewing cage.

Ornamental assembly for use in non-aquatic viewing cages or the like

An ornamental assembly for use in fluid filled viewing tanks such as aquariums or the like which enhances the aesthetic nature of the tank. The ornamental assembly has a decorative body and a suction cup means for semi-permanently securing the decorative ornament to an inner surface of the viewing tank.

Ornamental assembly for use in aquariums or the like

A lineup clamp (10) is disclosed which is particularly suitable for clamping to smaller diameter pipe sections with their ends abutting for welding. Pipes less than twelve inches in diameter can be clamped by the clamp (10). The clamp includes a first resilient element (24) and a second resilient element (28) separated by a separator (26). A hydraulic cylinder (20) is activated to resiliently deform the elements (24, 28) against the separator and the inner surfaces of the abutting pipe sections to clamp the pipe sections in alignment for welding. The clamp is released by removing pressurized hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic cylinder and permitting the resilient elements to rebound to their relaxed configuration.

Resilient lineup clamp

An ornamental device for use in fluid-filled viewing tanks for enhancing the aesthetic nature of the tank. The ornamental device having a decorative body member and an affixed retaining member for semi-permanently securing the ornamental device to an inner surface of the viewing tank.

An apparatus is disclosed for joining pipe sections on or along side a pipeline right-of-way. The apparatus comprises a main frame and one or more telescoping subframes. The two pipe sections are supported in a first position where their ends are beveled. The two pipe sections are moved to a second position where they are pushed together, held in place with a clamp, and rolled while a welding head joins the two pipe sections. The joined pipe sections are moved to a third position to await removal from the apparatus by a crane. In the meantime, pipe sections are continually loaded and unloaded from the apparatus so that pipe sections can be joined on a continuous basis. The subframe telescopes into and out of the main frame to support a pipe section thereon. Road wheels and tractor wheels are provided on the main frame to allow the apparatus to be transported and positioned along the pipeline right-of-way in inaccessible and remote locations.
