Systems and methods for scheduling tasks using sliding time windows are provided. In certain embodiments, a system for scheduling the execution of tasks includes at least one processing unit configured to execute multiple tasks, wherein each task in the multiple tasks is scheduled to execute within a scheduler instance in multiple scheduler instances, each scheduler instance in the multiple scheduler instances being associated with a set of time windows in multiple time windows and with a set of processing units in the at least one processing unit in each time window, time windows in the plurality of time windows having a start time and an allotted duration and the scheduler instance associated with the time windows begins executing associated tasks no earlier than the start time and executes for no longer than the allotted duration, and wherein the start time is slidable to earlier moments in time.

Systems and methods for scheduling tasks using sliding time windows

A switch assembly with three axis actuator tolerance comprises a body containing an actuator floating in the x-y plane for moving a camming device which activates a self-contained switch unit with all parts being contained within the body. The switch assembly is thereby highly useful for accommodating manufacturing tolerances of appliances where the switch actuator must fit through holes in appliance panels or the body must fit between appliance panels or both.

A switch actuator is provided in which any one of a plurality of rotatable cams is capable of actuating a single switch simultaneously with controlling another mechanism, such as a gas valve that is associated with that particular rotatable cam. When used in conjunction with a kitchen range, each of the rotatable cams controls an associated gas valve which, in turn, controls the flow of natural gas to an associated burner. Each of the rotatable cams is disposed within an associated one of a plurality of openings formed through the thickness of a movable member. The movable member is attached in sliding relation with a stationary member which, in turn, can be attached to a stationary device such as a kitchen range. Each of the openings formed through the thickness of the movable member is provided with an edge that is shaped to perform the function of a cam follower. This cam following edge is disposed in contact with a cam surface attached to the rotatable cam. When the rotatable cam rotates about its central axis, the cam surface moves into contact with portions of the cam following edge of the opening and causes the movable member to move relative to the stationary member and actuate a switch which provides electrical current to a plurality of igniters.

Switch actuator with multiple controls and a single switch

A switch actuation mechanism is provided with a support structure that is shaped to hold two switches. Each switch is associated with a pivotable member that is rotatably attached to the support structure. The pivotable member can be moved into either a rest position or an actuating position. When in the rest position, an actuating surface of the pivotable member is placed in contact with a plunger of the associated switch. A resilient member, such as a spring, is used to urge the pivotable members into their rest positions. If an actuator, such as a plunger or latch, is move into contact with a protrusion extending from the pivotable member, the pivotable member is rotated clockwise and the actuating surface is moved out of contact with the plunger. This deactuates the switch. The two switches are arranged to provide a sequential deactuation as two actuators are moved into contact with their respective protrusions extending from the pivotable members.
