A method for reducing unsolicited e-mails includes receiving an e-mail message from a sender, storing the e-mail message within a holding unit, and sending a confirmation response request e-mail to the sender in response to the e-mail message from the sender. The confirmation response request e-mail may include a request for at least one confirmation code from the sender according to at least one calculation type/method specified in the confirmation response request e-mail. The method may also include receiving a confirmation e-mail from the sender in response to the confirmation response request e-mail, determining whether the confirmation e-mail includes a code correctly computed according the at least one confirmation code calculation type, and performing an action with respect to the e-mail message based upon the confirmation e-mail. The sender's support of the method creates an explicit agreement regarding legal jurisdiction governing any disputes arising out of the e-mail.

System and method for reducing unsolicited e-mails

A process control method that automatically and comprehensively manages the creation, storage and use of electronic records during the operation of a controlled process and for governing and documenting the users that operate the computer systems that are involved in the creation, storage and use of the electronic records. The method controls a process, such as a chemical process, by receiving measurement information relating to the process, applying rules to the received measurement information to determine a desired response, and sending control information to at least one device associated with the process, so as to modify the process. The method maintains the rules, measurements and control activity in transaction logs or audit trails related thereto in a secure database. By providing convenient, centralized control of the process within a secure database, the method enhances compliance with the FDA regulations that permit electronic records to be regarded as the equivalent to paper records under 21 CFR Part 11.

A control system for preventing over-pumping of wells using submersible pumps. When the pump lowers the level of the water in the well, the control automatically diverts some or all of the water pumped back into the well to assure that sufficient water is available in the well for pumping. In this way, pump cavitation is eliminated and water is pumped from the well either at a rate equal to the capacity of the pump or, if the flow of water into the well is less than the capacity of the pump, at a rate equal to the flow of water into the well.
