A lamp system including an alternating current power source for supplying a signal voltage, an input transformer having primary and secondary windings connected to the power source for increasing signal voltage, a signal rectifier connected to the secondary winding for creating a direct current signal from the increased signal voltage, a signal oscillator connected to the signal rectifier for creating a high-frequency signal from the direct current signal, one or more ballasts connected to the signal oscillator to create high-voltage high-frequency signals from the direct current signal, one or more lamps driven by the high-voltage high-frequency signal from the ballasts, a sense winding on an output side of each of the ballasts for inducing alternating current signals, an apparatus for receiving and processing the alternating current signals, and an apparatus for displaying the processed alternating current signals.

Control apparatus for fluid disinfection modules and systems

An immersible and portable module for irradiating waste fluids and capable of in situ self cleaning including a first header capable of receiving and maintaining in position a multiplicity of ultraviolet light producing lamps. The module includes a second header capable of receiving and maintaining in position said multiplicity of lamps and having an opening to receive cleaning fluids wherein the multiplicity of lamps are connected to the headers. The second header has a multiplicity of cleaning fluid exit holes proximate the lamps to permit the cleaning fluids to flow into the opening and outwardly from the holes and into contact with the lamps.

Ultraviolet disinfection module

A clamp for positioning a photocell adjacent to an ultraviolet light source including: a housing sized and shaped to receive at least a portion of the photocell; a seal positioned about conductive members extending from the photocell and out of the housing against penetration of liquids into the housing; another seal connected to the housing and having an access opening to a detection end of the photocell; and spaced apart opposed arms extending from the housing and having portions sized and shaped to firmly receive an outer surface of the ultraviolet light source, wherein the detection end of the photocell is positioned at a predetermined distance from the light source.

Quick attach clamp for photocells

A submersible photocell for detecting ultraviolet light in disinfection apparatus including a quartz jacket capable of transmitting ultraviolet light and a fluorescent material sensitive to ultraviolet light at a wavelength of about 253.7 nm and which produces an infrared secondary emission having a wavelength of about 730-735 nm upon absorption of ultraviolet light. The photocell also includes a photoconductor sensitive to the secondary emission light, is located adjacent the fluorescent material and is capable of varying conductance of electricity upon absorbing light having a wavelength of about 730-735 nm from the infrared secondary emission. The photocell further includes electrically conductive wiring connected to the photoconductor and extending outwardly of the jacket at its remote end. Also, the photocell includes a silicone sponge filler positioned adjacent the photoconductor and around the wiring, together with a nonreactive, non-outgassing ultraviolet light resistant potting compound located adjacent the filler and surrounding the wire to tightly seal the remote end of the jacket from liquids.
