A process for oligomerizing an olefin stream comprising charging a light olefin vapor stream comprising ethylene to a first oligomerization reactor containing a first oligomerization catalyst to produce a first oligomerized stream. A heavy olefin liquid stream comprising C3-C8 olefin liquids stream is charged to a second oligomerization reactor containing a second oligomerization catalyst to produce a second oligomerized stream. The two oligomerized streams can be processed to recover fuel streams together.

A hydrocracking process for maximization of naphtha while producing base oil is disclosed. The hydrocracking process comprises hydrocracking a hydrocarbon feed stream in a hydrocracking unit in the presence of a hydrogen stream and a hydrocracking catalyst to produce a hydrocracked effluent stream. The hydrocracked effluent stream is separated in a separator to provide a vapor hydrocracked stream and a liquid hydrocracked stream. The liquid hydrocracked stream is fractionated to provide a naphtha stream, a kerosene stream, a diesel stream and a first unconverted oil stream. A recycle stream comprising a portion of the kerosene stream, a portion of the diesel stream, and a portion of the first unconverted oil stream is recycled to the hydrocracking unit to provide a second unconverted oil stream. A remaining portion of the first unconverted oil stream is withdrawn for base oil production.

Hydrocracking process for maximization of naphtha

A process for recovery of C+ hydrocarbons from a stripper gaseous hydroprocessed stream by contacting it with a stripper liquid stream. The stripper liquid stream absorbs C+ hydrocarbons predominantly over other hydrocarbons thereby increasing C+ yield and enabling the stripper gaseous stream to meet hydrocarbon limits. The rich absorbent stream may be sent to recovery with the stripper liquid from whence it came.

The carbon monoxide is not fed to the downstream hydroisomerization reactor but supplanted with a hydrogen gas with a low concentration of carbon monoxide so as not to poison the hydroisomerization catalyst to improve the cold flow properties for a diesel fuel.

We have discovered a process for hydrocracking a distillate stream and separating it into several product cuts including LPG, light naphtha, heavy naphtha and distillate without a stripper column. Additionally, no more than two heaters relying on external utilities are required for reboiling fractionator bottoms.

Processes for combining the stripping sections for two different reaction zones, such as a diesel hydrotreating zone and a naphtha hydrotreating zone. The stripping section includes an air cooler, a combined overhead receiver and two different separation sections. The two separation sections may be in the same column, but be fluidically separated. Alternatively the two sections may be in different columns. A stream from the second section may be used as a reflux from the first. While a stream from the combined overhead condenser may provide a reflux for the first section.

A hydrotreating reactor including a vessel comprising an upper zone, and intermediate zone and a lower zone. The upper zone comprises at least one upper catalyst bed. The intermediate zone comprises a vapor/liquid separation zone, wherein gas separated within the vapor/liquid separation zone is directed to a high pressure knockout drum and the liquid separated within the vapor/liquid separation zone is directed to a stripping section and then the lower zone. The lower zone comprises at least one lower catalyst bed. Preferably, the stripping section is configured and arranged for removing hydrogen sulfide and ammonia from the gas.

An apparatus and process is disclosed for hydrocracking a hydrocarbon feed stream following hydrotreating the feed stream. A separator removes diesel and lower boiling materials in a hydrotreated stream before a hydrocracking reactor, so only liquid materials heavier than diesel are hydrocracked in a hydrocracking reactor. A vapor hydrotreated stream and the hydrocracked stream are separated and fractionated together.
