A pump comprising a valve housing and a spool slidably positioned within the valve housing. The spool has a supply face, a first end face, and a second end face, and is slidable between a first position wherein pressurized supply air is supplied to the supply face and the first end face, the first end face having a greater surface area than the supply face, a second position wherein the supply air is supplied to the supply face and is blocked from both the first and second end faces, and a third position wherein the supply air is supplied to the supply face and the second end face.

A pneumatic motor having a motor body having a main piston chamber with opposed first and second chamber ends, at least two spool chambers in fluid communication with the main piston chamber, an inlet for flowing a pressurized fluid into each of the at least two spool chambers, and an outlet provided in the housing for exhausting the pressurized fluid from the main piston chamber and each of the spool chambers. At least two spool members are in the two spool chambers, with each spool member adapted to be movable in a first direction to permit pressurized fluid to be supplied to the main piston chamber and also in a second direction to permit the pressurized fluid to be exhausted from the main piston chamber. A piston member is movable in a reciprocating manner in the main piston chamber in response to movement by the spool members. The piston has first and second piston ends and an annular piston chamber located between and in fluid communication with the first and second chamber ends, the first and second piston ends defining, with the first and second chamber ends, a first chamber and a second chamber, respectively, in the main piston chamber during reciprocation of the piston. First and second seals between the piston ends and the annular piston chamber are provided such that while the piston reciprocates within the main piston chamber, the first and second seals alternately exhaust the first and second chambers into the annular piston chamber.

A muffler for use with a pneumatic motor the muffler including a housing having a first longitudinal wall, a second longitudinal wall, a first lateral wall, a second lateral wall, and a front wall where the first and second longitudinal walls include an exhaust port and the front, longitudinal and lateral walls define a muffler chamber. The muffler also includes first and second baffle located in said muffler chamber. The first and second baffles include a first side and a second side, and each baffle extends away from a first lateral wall substantially parallel to the longitudinal walls and terminates in a baffle edge. The first and second baffles dividing the muffler chamber into at least two exhaust chambers, the baffle edges define a crossover opening for flowing an exhausted fluid to an adjacent exhaust chamber. A sound absorbing media along said first and second sides of said first and second baffles.

A reciprocating pump, comprising a reciprocating motor having a housing body which includes an open first end and a base at the first end, the base substantially closes the first end of the motor housing. The motor also includes a reciprocating member movable by the motor. The member has an end and is adapted to be movable through a housing body chamber. The reciprocating pump includes a pump outlet having a first end, a second end, a pumped fluid outlet port between the ends, and a passageway joining said ends and adapted to receive the end of the reciprocating member. The passageway has a minimum width and the outlet body is connected to the pump base. The reciprocating pump also includes a pump member adapted to be flow connected to the second end of the outlet body. The pump member has a movable check for displacing the pumped fluid to the outlet, said movable check being operatively connected to said end of said reciprocating member and said check also having a width that is less than the minimum width of the passage so that the check is serviceable with the reciprocating pump in line.

Pneumatic motor

A pneumatic motor including a motor body having a piston chamber with opposed chamber ends, at least two valve chambers, an inlet for flowing a pressurized fluid into the piston chamber and each of the at least two valve chambers, a number of outlets provided in the housing for exhausting the pressurized fluid from the piston chamber and each of the at least two valve chambers. The motor also includes a three-way valve member adapted to be located in each of the at least two valve chambers, the valve members each have at least one open end and at least one port formed along the valve member body. A spool member is located in one of the valve chambers, each spool member has a first end adapted to be located in the open end of the valve member. The spool members are adapted to be movable in a first direction relative to the valve member to permit pressurized fluid to be supplied to the piston chamber and also in a second direction relative to the valve member to permit the pressurized fluid in the piston chamber to be exhausted from the chamber. A piston is movable in a reciprocating manner in the main chamber in response to movement by the spools relative to the three-way valve members.

Positive adjustable flow is provided for a dual flow valve for paint dispensing or the like utilizing externally adjustable stops and operating lifts deployed by a single pressure source alternatively or simultaneously applied to a plurality of operating pistons.

A mechanical shift pilot valve is provided with lost motion response to accommodate slight piston reversals at travel limits to prevent a false shift signal related thereto.

A double acting diaphragm pump includes a flat valve construction which is reversible to provide valving for both the inlet and outlet to the pumping chamber. Briefly, the present invention comprises a combined mechanical shifting mechanism and pneumatic pilot valve construction to contrl the cycling of a double diaphragm pump. The mechanical cycling or shifting mechanism is positioned between pressure chambers of the diaphragm pump in the pump housing and extends axially into one or the other pressure chamber. The shifting mechanism moves axially in response to engagement by one of the pump diaphragms. Upon engagement by a diaphragm, the mechanical shift opens fluid pressure passageways to a pneumatic pilot valve which controls fluid flow to the respective pressure chambers associated with the diaphragm pump. A positive pilot signal is thus supplied through the entire stroke or cycle of the diaphragm pump. The mechanical shifting mechanism is not connected directly to a diaphragm or to the connecting rod which connects the diaphragms.
