Clamp ring for UV generator

A water treatment system includes an actinic radiation reactor and at least one ultraviolet (UV) lamp disposed within a quartz tube within the actinic radiation reactor. The at least one UV lamp includes a lamp tube including a gas that emits ultraviolet light responsive to electrical excitation, a first pinch extending from a first end of the lamp tube and a second pinch extending from a second end of the lamp tube, and a first end cap coupled to the first pinch and a second end cap coupled to the second pinch. The first end cap and second end cap are dimensioned to center the lamp tube coaxially within the quartz tube.

Single ended, anti-vibration improved lamp design

An improved clamp ring system comprises a clamp ring having a wedge shaped seal face; a reactor having a clamp ring mounting recess; a quartz sleeve disposed within the clamp ring mounting recess; a seal being disposed within the clamp ring mounting recess around the quartz sleeve. The clamp ring is removably attached to the reactor near the clamp ring mounting recess such that the wedge shaped seal face compresses the seal against the quartz sleeve.

A novel probe housing assembly comprises a body, a cap, and a retainer. The retainer is adapted to releasably engage the body and the cap wherein, a second edge of the cap abuts a first edge of the body, and a third threaded portion of the retainer engages, by five complete revolutions, a second threaded portion of the cap, and a third threaded portion of the retainer engages, by five complete revolutions, the first threaded portion of the body whereby the cap is releasably secured to the body by the retainer thus achieving an EX-D compliant seal.

An improved lamp connector comprises a base, a first cooperating member, a retainer, and a second cooperating member having a bulbous female connector being larger in size than an aperture formed by the a ridge on the retainer. The first and second cooperating members are operatively connected via male and female connectors to energize a UV lamp connected to the distal portion of the first cooperating member. The UV lamp cannot be removed from its housing while energized because the second cooperating member must be detached from the first cooperating member in order for the retainer to be removed. The retainer must be removed in order to remove the first cooperating member to gain access to the UV lamp.

An electrically isolating lamp assembly comprises a clamp ring, a lamp end, and a socket, wherein the lamp end is positioned within the clamp ring and the lamp end can be rotated, relative to the clamp ring, between locked and unlocked positions. In the unlocked position, lamp end shoulders are radially non-aligned with clamp ring flanges, and a locking peg is restrained, by the clamp ring flange, from being inserted completely within a locking peg channel in the lamp end, whereby the socket is restrained from fully engaging the lamp end; in the locked position, the lamp end shoulders are radially aligned with the clamp ring flanges, and the locking peg is inserted completely within the locking peg channel, whereby the socket can fully engage the lamp end, and wherein the lamp end is restrained by the locking peg from being rotated to the unlocked position.
