A dual-band microstrip antenna has a ground plate and also has a central patch positioned between a pair of side patches. The antenna has a single signal feedline, connected to the central patch, and the side patches are shorted to the ground element. Conductive surfaces of the ground plate and patches that carry surface current from signal radiation are contoured such that only portions of conductive surfaces that carry more than a negligible amount of the surface current are retained. The antenna has a reduced weight and improved bandwidth over conventional antennas that operate in the 925 MHz and 1800 MHz ranges.

Dual-band microstrip antenna

An RF antenna comprises a single conductor arranged in a generally spiral triangular form, and means for connecting the conductor to an antenna feed at or adjacent one end of the spiral, the other end of the spiral being open-circuited.

Multiband antenna

A multi-band blade antenna for use on a vehicle is formed by patterning the metal on both sides of a printed circuit board. One side is patterned into low-frequency patch and ground elements, and the other side is patterned into high-frequency patch and ground elements. The length of the patterned patch element on the low-frequency side of the board approximates the length of the board, while the effective length of the high-frequency patch element is approximately twice as long. Tuning for the frequency bands of mobile telephones in different regions (for instance, the European Union, United States and Japan) is by means of differences in slot length in the patch member on the low-frequency side, and differences in separation between the patch and ground members on the high-frequency side. RLC components are affixed to the low-frequency side after patterning. The printed circuit board has a shape which, in a complementary housing, may add ornamentation to the exterior of a vehicle on which it is mounted.

Multi-band vehicular blade antenna

An automobile antenna apparatus according to the present invention includes an antenna control section for electronically and variably controlling (beam-steering or beam-scanning) an emitting-beam pattern of each of antennas mounted on an automobile, based on high-precision positional information of the automobile, to optimize a function of using an electric wave for vehicle (for broadcast wave reception, mobile communications, positioning, obstruction detection and the like).

A window glass antenna apparatus for vehicles includes a defogger for defogging a window glass of a vehicle, which has bus bars at both ends and which is constituted of a thin, narrow strip conductor formed on the window glass such that the bus bars are opposed to a window metal frame of the vehicle with a predetermined gap therebetween, a driven antenna having a height and arranged close and opposite to the defogger with a predetermined clearance such that one side of the driven antenna is mutually coupled to that of the defogger, and a short circuit for causing a short circuit between each of the upper right and left ends of the bus bars and the window metal frame at a high frequency.

Window glass antenna apparatus for vehicles

A reception control system for automobiles according to the present invention includes tuners for a plurality of receivers for receiving various types of waves including at least an AM/FM broadcast wave, a TV broadcast wave and a GPS wave. The tuners are separated from receiver bodies and integrally incorporated into an antenna section (a plurality of antenna elements&plus;an AM/FM reception circuit&plus;a TV reception circuit) including at least a plurality of antenna elements. The tuners are supplied with a digital control signal through a LAN provided in an automobile thereby to control reception of waves.

A vehicle windowpane antenna apparatus comprises a defogger for defogging a vehicle window, which is constituted of strip conductor at least including a plurality of horizontal wires and a pair of bus bars, the bus bars being arranged on a window glass surface and each opposed to a metal section of a window frame with a bus-bar gap therebetween, a unit for separating the power source line and the defogger from each other in a high-frequency manner, vertical wires crossing the horizontal wires to form the defogger in a mesh pattern having meshes, a length of a longer side of each of the meshes being smaller than a wavelength of received wave, and a driven antenna having a height and provided close and opposite to the defogger with a clearance therebetween in such a manner that one side of the driven antenna is mutually coupled to one side of the defogger, the bus-bar gap being set to 50 mm to 70 mm, the clearance being set to 5 mm to 15 mm, the height of the driven antenna being set to 100 mm to 250 mm, the number of vertical wires being one or more, and the power source line and the bus bars constitute an open circuit therebetween.
