A concentric flow valve for a dual zone completion tool includes an upper seal bore sleeve, lower inner sleeve, ported sub, opening sleeve, and piston positioned within an outer sub. The upper seal bore sleeve, ported sub, and outer sub define an upper flow bore, and the lower inner sleeve, ported sub, and outer sub define a lower flow bore. The ported sub includes an upper ported sleeve coupled to the upper seal bore sleeve and a lower ported sleeve coupled to the lower inner sleeve, each ported sleeve including a valve port selectively fluidly coupling the respective flow bore to a valve flow path defined by the opening sleeve and ported sub, such that the upper and lower seal bores are fluidly coupled when the opening sleeve is in an open position. The piston is mechanically coupled to the opening sleeve and defines an opening chamber.

Concentric flow valve

A pressure actuated valve is disclosed which includes a plurality of flow openings, and first and second pistons. The first and second pistons are independently actuatable relative to one another, and are releasable coupled to one another by a release sleeve. The pressure actuated valve also includes a closing sleeve that is operatively coupled to the second piston. In an initial position of the second piston, the closing sleeve covers or blocks the plurality of flow openings. The pressure actuated valve includes a ratchet mechanism coupling the release sleeve to the first piston, the ratchet mechanism being adapted to allow movement of the first piston between its initial position and an intermediate position and back to its initial position while allowing the release sleeve to release the second piston after a predetermined number of cycles of movement of the first piston between its initial position and the intermediate position and back to its initial position. Upon release of the second piston by the release sleeve, the second piston, and the closing sleeve, responsive to the urging of a spring, will move to its final position uncovering the plurality of flow openings. The ratchet mechanism allows for the incremental movement of a release sleeve in response to movements of the first piston. The release sleeve is adapted to open the pressure actuated valve upon movement of the release sleeve through a designated distance.

Pressure activated ratcheting valve

The surgical instrument includes a distal tool, an elongated shaft that supports the distal tool, and a proximal handle or control member, where the tool and the handle are coupled to the respective distal and proximal ends of the elongated shaft via distal and proximal bendable motion members. Actuation means extends between said distal and proximal members whereby any deflection of said control handle with respect to said elongated instrument shaft causes a corresponding bending of said distal motion member for control of said working member. The proximal bendable member comprises a ball and socket assembly supported between the handle and instrument shaft and constructed and arranged for three dimensional motion.

Surgical instrument

A radial flow valve is disclosed which includes a plurality of flow openings, a first piston and a second piston, the first and second pistons being independently actuable relative to one another, and a sleeve operatively coupled to the second piston, the sleeve adapted to be positioned so as to cover the plurality of flow openings. A method is also disclosed which includes positioning a radial flow valve in a subterranean well bore having an upper zone pressure and a lower zone pressure, increasing a pressure within the valve to a value above the upper zone pressure to release a first piston within the valve and, after releasing the first piston, reducing the pressure within the valve to a value that is less than the lower zone pressure to thereby cause a second piston within the valve to move and thereby permit fluid flow through the valve.

Methods of operating a radial flow valve

A step ratchet mechanism that allows for the incremental movement of an assembly that may be adapted to incrementally open or close an adjustable orifice. The step ratchet mechanism may be comprised of a modified body lock ring that permits incremental movement along a mandrel in either direction along the mandrel. The step ratchet mechanism may be actuated a designated distance by the application of pressure to the mechanism. The step ratchet mechanism may be ideal for using pressure to drive a downhole multi-position device. The modified body lock ring is adapted to both secure the mechanism at each set position as the mandrel is pumped down as well as allowing the mechanism to ratchet when the mandrel is pumped back.

A medical instrument having a proximal control handle and a distal tool that are intercoupled by an elongated instrument shaft that is meant to pass internally of an anatomic body, proximal and distal movable members that respectively intercouple the proximal control handle and the distal tool with the instrument shaft, cable control means disposed between the movable members, an actuation member at the handle for controlling the distal tool through the movable members, and a coupler for selectively engaging or disengaging separable cable segments of the actuation member.

A method includes positioning a radial flow valve in a subterranean well bore having an upper zone pressure and a lower zone pressure, increase a pressure within the valve to a value above the upper zone pressure to release a first piston within the valve and, after releasing the first piston, reducing the pressure within the valve to a value that is less than the lower zone pressure to thereby cause a second piston within the valve to move and thereby permit fluid flow through the valve.

Radial flow valve and method

A chemical injection system for controlling injection of an injection fluid from an injection fluid supply at a surface location into a production tubing assembly having an upper flow path, a first flow zone, and a second flow zone. The chemical injection system comprises a first fluid injection line configured to inject the injection fluid into the first flow zone and a second fluid injection line configured to inject the injection fluid into the second flow zone. A main fluid supply line is configured to fluidly connect both the first fluid injection line and the second fluid injection line to the injection fluid supply.

Method and apparatus for injecting fluid in a wellbore

A hydraulic sleeve valve that includes a valve position indication system that provides an indication that the valve has reached a predetermined position, such as, for example, the fully opened or fully closed condition. The hydraulic sleeve valve may include a bypass relief system and may also provide a valve control fluid circulation function to filter or otherwise manipulate the control fluid.

A frangible flapper valve that may be closed to hydraulically isolate a portion of a wellbore tubular. The flapper valve is made of a frangible material adapted to shatter upon impact from an impact sleeve. The sleeve may be used to initially hold open the flapper valve. A latching mechanism may be used to retain the sleeve above its initial position allowing the flapper to close isolating a portion of the tubular. The latching mechanism may engage a piston to retain the sleeve at the second position. A shearable device adapted to shear under a predetermined pressure selectively connects the piston to the tubular. When the pressure within the tubular increases above the predetermined amount the shearable device releases the piston and pushes the sleeve into the closed flapper valve causing the flapper valve to shatter. A second latching mechanism may prevent further movement of the sleeve.

System and method for downhole operation using pressure activated and sleeve valve assembly

A hydraulic sleeve valve is disclosed that comprises a bypass relief system that provides an indication that the valve has reached a predetermined position, such as, for example, the fully opened or fully closed condition. The bypass relief may also provide a valve control fluid circulation function to filter or otherwise manipulate the control fluid. Also disclosed are flow port alignment systems that maintain the valve flow ports in predetermined relationships.

A mechanical flow control device is provided that allows flow of production fluids along an annular path and across an valve body. A sliding sealing member can be mechanically transitioned between an opened flow position and a closed flow position as desired. The mechanical flow control device may be combined with one or more interventionless flow control devices.

Reclosable mechanical annular flow valve

A mounting assembly that is used to attach an alternate material railing system to an underlying flat surface. The mounting assembly attaches to the underlying flat surface so that the mounting assembly extends vertically upwardly from the flat surface. A hollow post from the railing system is then placed over the mounting assembly and is attached to the mounting assembly. The mounting assembly therefore acts as an intermediate connector that joins a hollow post to an underlying flat surface. The mounting assembly itself has a base plate and a vertical structure extending upwardly from the base plate. The base plate is attached to the underlying flat surface with a mechanical fastener. The hollow post of the synthetic railing system is placed over the mounting assembly, wherein the vertical structure engages the inside of the hollow post and holds the hollow post in a vertical orientation.
