A system for the management of rack-mounted field replaceable units (FRUs) that affords the enhanced availability and serviceability of FRUs provided by blade-based systems but in a manner that accommodates different types of FRUs (e.g., in relation to form factors, functionality, power and cooling requirements, and/or the like) installed within a rack or cabinet.

Method for interconnecting field replaceable unit to power source of communication network

In one illustrative embodiment, a wind-driven charging system includes a wind-driven rotation device coupled to a rotatable shaft, and a plurality of electric generators disposed at different longitudinal locations along the rotatable shaft and each of the plurality of electric generators are rotationally driven simultaneously by the rotatable shaft. By having the electric generators disposed at different longitudinal locations, more electric generators may be simultaneously driven by a common shaft. In some instances, a controller may be configured to enable more of the electric generators to provide electrical current to recharge a battery when the speed of rotation of the rotatable shaft increases, and may disable more of the plurality of electric generators to not provide electrical current when the speed of rotation of the rotatable shaft decreases.

A disposable evidence marker of paper, cardboard or like material. The marker is provided in flat, planar condition and is foldable into an inverted V-shape. An integral tongue and tab may be punched out and interlocked for stability. The investigator may mark the panel surfaces with a conventional marker or pen and discard the markers after use with no clean up necessary.

The base panel may have a cut-out so the item of evidence may be positioned within the cut-out for better reference. The surfaces of the panels carry indicia such as numbers or letters for identification. The markers may be placed on a horizontal surface or suspended by use of a fastener from a vertical surface. The markers are provided to law enforcement personnel in kits containing multiple sequentially imprinted markers which are nestable and stackable.
