An aircraft spraying conversion kit which provides for the aerial dispensing of a fire extinguishing agent. The kit includes a dispensing manifold assembly removably  coupled to an open aircraft door which is supported by a support frame having two parallel support legs which also lock the opened aircraft door in a predetermined open position while the aircraft is in flight.

A float boom for confining material floatable on a liquid surface during high temperature conditions, comprising: an elongated floatable tube formed of fluid impervious material; a source of fluid under pressure for cooling the boom during high temperature conditions; piping connected to the source of cooling fluid for distributing the cooling fluid over the length of the boom; and, a protective cover, of a fluid-absorbing material, mounted over the tube, the cover having peripheral edges adapted to engage the boom to encase the tube therein, the piping distributing the cooling fluid over the tube and under the cover to soak the cover over its length.

Fluid cooled high temperature resistant floating barrier

A non-contact floating containment or repelling device used to gather, contain or repel a material such as oil that has been spilled on the surface of a body of water. This device consists of a plurality of paddlewheels serially connected along a shaft secured between distant vessels. This shaft is rotated, thereby rotating the paddlewheels which churn the water, thus repelling the spilled material away from the device and toward a central region. By this arrangement, the device itself never becomes contaminated by the spilled material and is sprayed with the churning water, and therefore, should a fire break out, damage to the device is unlikely.

A high temperature resistant oil containment boom having a protective cover, the cover comprising, in laminar combination, an outer layer of high temperature resistant metallic fabric, a first underlayer of high temperature resistant insulation, a second underlayer of a polymer-coated fabric, a third underlayer of high temperature resistant insulation and a bottom layer of a high temperature resistant polymer-coated material, the protective cover being unified by having at least the top and bottom layers secured together along their peripheral edges.

High temperature resistant floating barrier

A float boom for retaining a floatable material, such as hydrocarbons, floating upon a liquid surface. This float boom consists of separate and sequentially arranged buoyancy chambers having depending channels that are interconnected via a passageway such that an inflating medium is sequentially supplied to the buoyancy chambers. An automatic sealing system blocks access to each buoyancy chamber by closing the depending channel whenever the internal pressure within the channel is less than the external pressure upon the channel.

Floating barrier method and apparatus

An apparatus for testing the connection between a segment of pipe and a coupling comprising a cylindrical body member adapted to be inserted inside one end of the pipe segment, the body member having provided therein a plurality of hydrostatically operated pressure resistant sealing packers that are spaced apart and are forced laterally outwardly of the cylindrical body and into contact with the inner surface of the pipe segment and coupling, thereby sealing off the interior of the pipe segment so as to isolate a test fluid introduced under pressure in the annular space created between the sealing packers; and an inlet port in one end of the cylindrical body member and a fluid passageway provided longitudinally within the cylindrical body member and communicating with the inlet port and the annular space for admitting test fluid under pressure into the annular space.

An apparatus for hydrostatically testing the pipe threads on the end of a length of pipe onto which a coupling is adapted comprising a cylindrical body member that is inserted inside the end of the pipe and having attached thereto a hydraulically activated pressure resistant first seal that contacts a plurality of second seals arranged annularly of the cylindrical body member between its flange and the cylindrical body whereby the second annular seals are forced outwardly and into contact with the inner surface of the pipe being tested in order to seal off the interior of the pipe so as to isolate test fluid introduced under pressure to the area surrounding the connection between the pipe and the cylindrical body member, a cylindrical nipple like pressure resistant third seal arranged at the opposite end of the cylindrical body member that is screwed into the exposed interior threads of the coupling, a fluid passageway that is arranged in the cylindrical body member for introducing a testing fluid under pressure into the annulus between the hydraulically activated first seal and the cylindrical nipple like plug.

A pipe thread gauge for measuring the pitch diameter of threaded pipe and determining the taper on the inner and outer sides of the threaded ends of the pipe comprising: an elongated rail, a fixed blade block assembly mounted on the rail, a second blade block assembly slidably mounted on the rail and movable relative to the fixed blade block assembly, thread-engaging blades mounted on both the fixed and sliding blade block assemblies, set screws mounted in the second blade block assembly for engaging apertures provided in the rail at selected locations therealong for locking the slidable blade box assembly at such locations, and a digital read-out to visually display measurements of pitch diameter and/or taper.
