The present invention provides methods and systems for preparing reminders for calendar items (i.e., tasks). More specifically, a calendar item may be created using a calendar application or the like. Once created the reminder is strategically scheduled to provide the reminder to the user associated with the calendar item early enough such that the user can be reminded in a convenient and helpful manner, and will have a chance to perform any necessary tasks prior to the calendar item.

The grouping application may permit the creation of groups of meetings having one or more specified items of associated information. The present invention provides methods and systems for specializing calendar items. More specifically, a user or number of users may receive a calendar item having certain original parameters. The receiving user may wish to adjust those parameters for a subset of users that may or may not include the calendar item originator. The receiving user can then specialize certain parameters of the calendar item and transmit them to the determined subset of users without sending the same specialized calendar item to users outside of the subset that received the original calendar item.
