A transfer valve includes a spool comprising a first circumferential flow channel at a first axial position of the spool and a second circumferential flow channel at a second axial position of the spool. The first circumferential flow channel and the second circumferential flow channel have different circumferential positions and are defined only partially circumferentially, and a sleeve disposed over the spool. The sleeve includes at least three flow windows defined through the sleeve at an axial position of the sleeve, each flow window having different circumferential positions on the sleeve. The spool is configured to translate within the sleeve between a first position and a second position. The first circumferential flow channel of the spool is configured to fluidly connect a first plurality of the at least three windows in the first position, and the second circumferential flow channel is configured to connect a second plurality of the at least three windows in the second position, wherein the first plurality of windows is different by at least one window from the second plurality of windows.

Transfer valves

A cooling flow circuit is provided and includes a main line having first and second sections ported to piston extend and return sides of the gas turbine engine actuator, respectively, an orifice disposed along the main line between the first and second sections, a bypass line and a bypass valve. The bypass line is fluidly coupled to the first and second sections at opposite ends thereof, respectively. The bypass valve is disposed along the bypass line between the opposite ends thereof. The bypass valve has a variable flow area which is responsive to a pressure differential between the first and second sections.

Actuator cooling flow limiter

An actuator system having various features is disclosed. An actuator system may have a first and a second electrohydraulic servo valve. A control selector may connect one of the electrohydraulic servo valves to a cylinder and may isolate the other electrohydraulic servo valve to ameliorate leakage in response to a switching solenoid valve operating. In this manner, one electrohydraulic servo valve may be connected to a cylinder to operate the cylinder, and the other electrohydraulic servo valve may be isolated from the cylinder, for example, to provide a standby electrohydraulic servo valve.

Actuator system

A bypass directional control valve has a valve sleeve, and two sets of outlet ports on each of two axial sides of the inlet ports. The outlet and the inlet ports all are formed to be cylindrical holes, and a diameter of the inlet ports is greater than a diameter of the outlet ports. A valve sleeve, a spool, a fluid flow system and a method are all also disclosed.

Bypass directional control valve

The subject invention is a valve for regulating the viscosity of fluid. The valve includes a housing defining a bore having a first inlet supplying &ldquo;cold&rdquo; hydraulic fluid at a first viscosity and a second inlet supplying &ldquo;hot&rdquo; hydraulic fluid at a second viscosity. A spool valve disposed within the bore has at least one land to proportionally control the flow of hydraulic fluid through the inlets. Hydraulic fluid from the first and second inlets mixes within the valve and exits the valve through an outlet at an optimum viscosity. A flow restrictor creates a pressure force on the spool valve that is proportional to the viscosity of the hydraulic fluid flowing through the outlet. The pressure force acts to move the spool valve such that the spool valve partially blocks the flow of hydraulic fluid through the first and second inlets, thereby controlling the proportion of &ldquo;cold&rdquo; and &ldquo;hot&rdquo; fluid to maintain the viscosity of the hydraulic fluid flowing through the outlet.

Viscosity regulating valve

The subject invention is a valve for regulating the viscosity of fluid utilized by an integrated drive generator (IDG). The valve includes a housing defining a bore having a first inlet supplying &ldquo;cold&rdquo; hydraulic fluid at a first viscosity and a second inlet supplying &ldquo;hot&rdquo; hydraulic fluid at a second viscosity. A spool valve disposed within the bore has at least one land to proportionally control the flow of hydraulic fluid through the inlets. Hydraulic fluid from the first and second inlets mixes within the valve and exits the valve through an outlet at an optimum viscosity for the operation of the IDG. A flow restrictor creates a pressure force on the spool valve that is proportional to the viscosity of the hydraulic fluid flowing to the IDG. The pressure force acts to move the spool valve such that the spool valve partially blocks the flow of hydraulic fluid through the first and second inlets, thereby controlling the proportion of &ldquo;cold&rdquo; and &ldquo;hot&rdquo; fluid to maintain the viscosity of the hydraulic fluid flowing to the IDG within an optimum range.
