A modified media key used to decrypt protected media content stored on an optical disc, such as an HD-DVD or Blu-ray disc, is created through application of a transformation using a constant value which is programmatically generated by procedural code that runs on a player. The transformation is obfuscated through application of a random value to the constant value through a logical XOR operation. The programmatically-generated constant, called Soft Key Conversion Data ('SKCD') is used by a security layer to derive the modified media key, called a Soft Media Key. At the player, a conventionally calculated media key is used to decrypt the first title, while the Soft Media Key is used to decrypt subsequent titles. Optionally, the SKCD may be updated one or more times so that the Soft Media Key is repeatedly transformed and respectively applied, for example, on a title-by-title basis, or to groups of subsequent titles.

Arrangements and methods are provided that allow integration of connected online services within a high-definition interactive framework, and in particular within an advanced content interactivity layer. In this way, the online services may enjoy enhanced features on an advanced content media device. For example, content running on an advanced content media device may be configured to detect an online service's feature and may thus present the user with additional features that interact with the online service. An advanced content media device may detect another user's advanced content media device through a network, and in particular a media service on the network, allowing chat and synchronized playback of content. Advanced content media devices may vary, but may include, e.g., a multimedia player, a media center, a game console, a personal computer, and so on.

Arrangement for connectivity within an advanced multimedia content framework

A signal conditioner for use with cardiographic data and other biological signals includes a baseline shift circuit and a variable gain amplifier. A feedback loop is provided for the output signal with a reference which designates the maximum value of the output signal. Within the baseline shifting circuit, there is provided circuitry which compares the amount of offset of the negative excursions of the waveform from a reference lead so as to introduce a feedback compensation signal which shifts the baseline and thereby compensates for drift in the baseline. Integration circuitry in the form of counters of clock pulses are provided in the control of both amplifier gain and baseline shift. Timing circuitry provides for the interleaving of set-up intervals with data aquisition intervals, the gain adjustment and baseline adjustment being accomplished only during the set-up intervals. Sensing of temporal data by waveform analysis is utilized for restarting the timing sequence whenever the format of the sensed biological signal falls outside of the predetermined limits.

The within improved innoculator is of the type that causes the injection of medication without a skin-penetrating needle, relying instead on a skin-penetrating jet produced by the force of a released compression spring, wherein the improvement resides in a mechanical device for effectively loading the spring of the innoculator.

A novel die set and a power pack that is adapted to be mounted thereon define, in part, the improved punch press comprising the present invention. Hollow, magnetizable leader pins having spring actuated stripper buttons therein are used as the armature for the power pack which also includes coil positioned concentrically about at least one end of the leader pins. The coil may be made in several discrete sections which are electrically connected parallel to each other and where more than one coil is utilized, the plurality of coils are also connected in parallel to each other. The power pack comprising the present invention is readily attachable to the movable portions of the die set.

A novel die set and a power pack that is adapted to be mounted thereon define, in part, the improved punch press comprising the present invention. The power stroke of the within punch press results from the electrical interaction of an armature, attached in depending relation from a superposed positioned die set, and a solenoid coil located in the supporting base of the press. In assembling each component of the sub-assemblies consisting of the supported die set and of the supporting base, a positional relation is achieved for each component which in the assembly of the die set onto the base contributes to a proper projected positioning of the armature within the encircling solenoid coil, to thereby achieve the required electrical reaction therebetween without losses or other inefficiencies.
