An alignment plate that is attached to a core barrel of a pressurized water reactor and fits within slots within a top plate of a lower core shroud and upper core plate to maintain lateral alignment of the reactor internals. The alignment plate is connected to the core barrel through two vertically-spaced dowel pins that extend from the outside surface of the core barrel through a reinforcement pad and into corresponding holes in the alignment plate. Additionally, threaded fasteners are inserted around the perimeter of the reinforcement pad and into the alignment plate to further secure the alignment plate to the core barrel. A fillet weld also is deposited around the perimeter of the reinforcement pad. To accommodate thermal growth between the alignment plate and the core barrel, a gap is left above, below and at both sides of one of the dowel pins in the alignment plate holes through which the dowel pins pass.

A pre-blend composition for preparation of joint compound including water, a cellulose ether thickener, and about 19% or less by weight of a salt selected from the group consisting of potassium carbonate, potassium sulfate, sodium acetate, and mixtures thereof, wherein the composition is essentially free of alumina, is disclosed.

In a bucket, partially filled with an aqueous slurry of drywall joint compound, the joint compound is hermetically sealed from the air above by a formed-in-place flexible solid seal disposed over the entire top of the joint compound and preferably extending a short distance up the inner wall of the bucket. For partial use of the joint compound, the seal is first separated from the bucket inner wall and then lifted off the joint compound, cleaned, and kept in a condition suitable for reuse.

Aqueous joint compound seal

A joint compound, having crack resistance substantially equal to joint compounds containing mica, wherein the mica has been replaced by low length to width ratio gypsum crystals formed by the hydration of calcium sulfate to calcium sulfate dihydrate, particularly crystals formed in the presence of citric acid.

Wallboard T-square

An exterior wall or a roof-ceiling structure having, on the interior side, a wallboard with a front face which forms the interior wall or ceiling surface and a back face, which is adhered to wall framing members. The back face has a paper-foil laminate which is adhered to the basic board back side, with the foil side of the laminate adhered directly to the basic board back side. The paper side of the laminate is adhered directly to the wall framing members.

Wall framing members, specially fabricated with grooves in one face, have wallboard affixed to the framing member face by a specially fabricated compatible injector for forcing hot melt adhesive into the groove, while the wallboard is being held firmly against the framing member face.

Method of attaching wallboard and stud therefor

In the application of a plurality of layers of a settable joint compound over a reinforcing tape, in drywall construction, a thin coat of Al.sub.2 SO.sub.4 is sprayed over the tape and the board edges prior to applying the first layer and over the top of each layer immediately after the layer is applied.
