A substrate treated with a lotion including a skin pH balancing compound and a base lotion. The pH balancing compound is preferably an organic acid, such as an alpha-hydroxy acid, an alpha-dihydroxy acid, or a beta-hydroxyacid, a combination of an organic acid and a salt of an organic acid, or a buffer combination, such as combinations of citric acid and disodium phosphate, or disodium citrate and sodium hydroxide. The preferred lotion has the effect of maintaining the skin acid mantle while making the treated substrate, preferably tissue, towel or napkin, optionally wet-strengthened, wipe or nonwoven material, feel smooth, lubricious and nongreasy. The skin care benefits of the lotionized substrate are expressed whether the product is used dry or prewetted with water.

A heat insulating paper cup having an improved seal. The cup can include a body member having an inside surface and an outside surface, and a bottom panel member having a upper surface and a bottom surface. The body member is coated (or in some instances partially coated) on its outside surface with a foamed low density polyethylene, and on its inside surface with an unfoamed modified low density polyethylene. The bottom panel member is coated on its upper surface with a foamed or an unfoamed low density polyethylene or foamed or unfoamed modified low density polyethylene. The body member and bottom panel member are oriented and joined to form a heat seal at an interface between a portion of the unfoamed modified low density polyethylene coated on the inside surface of the body member and a portion of unfoamed low density polyethylene or unfoamed modified low density polyethylene coated on the upper surface of the bottom panel member.

A substrate treated with a lotion including an emollient and a retention/release agent, wherein the lotion has at least one of: (a) a .DELTA.H above about 37.degree. C. of above about 10 calories/gram (and optionally, a .DELTA.H below about 37.degree. C. of above about 15 calories/gram), a total heat of melting of above about 25 calories/gram, preferably above about 30 calories/gram, and an onset of melting temperature of at least about 30.degree. C., preferably from about 30.degree. C. to about 45.degree. C.; and (b) a .DELTA.H above about 30.degree. C. of above about 15 calories/gram (and optionally, a .DELTA.H below about 30.degree. C. of above about 10 calories/gram), a total heat of melting of above about 25 calories/gram, preferably above about 30 calories/gram, and an onset of melting temperature of at least about 30.degree. C., preferably from about 30.degree. C. to about 45.degree. C. is disclosed. Preferably the lotion includes an aromatic ester or fatty alcohol ester of a non-fatty organic acid emollient or mixture thereof and a retention/release agent, and optionally, surfactant, and/or medicinal agent. The lotion has the effect of making the treated substrate, preferably tissue, towel or napkin, optionally wet-strengthened, wipe or nonwoven material, feel smooth, lubricious and nongreasy. The skin care benefits of the lotionized substrate are expressed whether the product is used dry or prewetted with water.

A present invention provides a microwave interactive laminate and a process for brush deactivation of such a laminate. A film, coated with a microwave interactive layer is provided. A desired portion of the microwave interactive layer is coated with a mask layer and the entire assembly is then exposed to abrasion means. The coated and un-coated areas are subjected to the application of mechanical forces to form discontinuities in the microwave interactive layer. That portion of the microwave interactive layer that was coated remains interactive with microwave radiation and is a heating area while the un-coated area is deactivated.
