A subsurface sewage disposal system includes leaching members oriented substantially vertically and positioned in a non-linear arrangement. A first volume is defined within the leaching members by a permeable enclosure configured to provide temporary storage of an effluent introduced by a distribution pipe. A plurality of balancing pipes is configured in a non-linear arrangement to redistribute the effluent from one leaching member to another leaching member. As the effluent rises within one leaching member, the effluent is redistributed by the balancing pipes to another leaching member. In the event of a failure of the distribution pipe, the plurality of balancing pipes is configured to bypass the distribution pipe and redistribute the effluent to the leaching members downstream of such failure.

Subsurface sewage disposal system

A subsurface sewage is provided and includes a plurality of leaching members oriented substantially vertically. A first volume defined within each of the plurality of the leaching members forms a void therein and includes a periphery, a top face that defines a first substantially horizontal plane, and a bottom face that defines a second substantially horizontal plane. A permeable enclosure is wrapped substantially around the periphery of each leaching member and a system frame maintains a location and a position of the plurality of the leaching members. A filter media is disposed in a second volume defined between at least two of the plurality of the leaching members. A leaching member balancing pipe is configured to hydraulically connect at least one of the plurality of the leaching members to at least one other of the plurality of the leaching members. A distribution pipe is configured to hydraulically connect at least one of the plurality of the leaching members to a source of an effluent flow.

A system for treating influent liquid includes a treatment module having an elongated member arranged in a predetermined configuration. The elongated member has a core structure wrapped in a fabric configured for the passage of the influent liquid therethrough. Filter field medium is disposed about open areas defined by the predetermined configuration of the elongated member and is configured for receiving the influent liquid from the elongated member and passing the influent liquid therethrough. A bladder containing the treatment module has an outlet for providing treated influent liquid passing through the filter medium. A distribution conduit is coupled to the bladder and has an outlet for distributing the influent liquid to the elongated member.

Influent liquid treatment system

A modular subsurface sewage disposal and wastewater treatment system is presented for treating effluent from a septic tank. The system includes an elongated member, leach field medium and at least one pipe. The elongated member is arranged in one of a serpentine or a ladder-shaped configuration and includes a core wrapped in a fabric. The medium is disposed about open areas in the configuration. The pipe uniformly distributes effluent from the septic tank to the elongated member. In one embodiment, the core is a pliable plastic membrane and the fabric wrap is a non-woven fabric. In one embodiment, the elongated member is disposed in a box and retained by an adhesive to permit ease of manufacture, shipping, and installation. In another embodiment, the elongated member is disposed in a rigid or semi-rigid frame defining channels retaining the elongated member. The frame is detectable by a non-invasive above surface detector.

Subsurface sewage disposal and wastewater treatment system

A zone heating device has first and second spaced burners for heating first and second spaced sides of a metal plate during forming of a thickened edge along the edge of the metal plate. The first and second burners are elevationally movable by an actuator between first and second spaced transverse positions relative to the sides of the metal plate. An actuator moves the zone heating device along a trackway in directions transverse the plate edge. A fixed guide under the bias of the actuator engages the edge of the metal plate and maintains the first and second burners at a predetermined location relative to the plate edge. A movable guide maintains the first and second burners at another preselected location relative to the plate edge. A control device controls movement of the first and second burners, the zone heating device, and the movable guide in response to preprogrammed instructions. The zone heating device is particularly suited for use on a forming apparatus.
