A pool shell comprising a pool shell body including an angled feature, wherein the angled feature defines an open region on an underside of the pool shell body. The pool shell may further comprise an insert positioned in the open region for providing structural support to the angled feature. The pool shell may further comprise an overlaying member positioned over the open region such that the insert is positioned between the underside of the pool shell body and the overlaying member, wherein the overlaying member is a substantially flat material for defining an exterior ramp surface extending over the open region defined by the angled feature.

A method of seaming together two fiberglass pool components can include providing a first fiberglass pool component having a first edge. The method can also include providing a second fiberglass pool component having a second edge. A first tongue can extend from the first edge. A second tongue can extend from the second edge. The method can also include applying a first adhesive to a top surface of the first tongue and positioning a bottom surface of the second tongue on the first adhesive. A second adhesive can be applied on a top surface of the second tongue. A tile or tiles can be positioned on the second adhesive. A silicone sealant or a silicone grout can be applied between the tile and the first edge; and between the tile and the second edge.

Methods of underwater seaming

A method for fabricating a pool mold comprising the steps of creating a recess, the recess having the general shape and contour of the desired finished pool and is installed with support materials and surface references. A layer of forming material is place over the support materials and surface references and formed to desired contour and grade. The forming material has substantially uniform coefficients of thermal expansion and heat transfer. The surface of the recess is sealed and coated with a release agent. A mold is then fabricated within the recess.
