Unit for the production of structured textile velour needle-bonded fabric webs from a pre-needle fleece of staple fibers, consisting of a fleece laying apparatus, a pre-needling machine and a velour needling machine, wherein at least the velour needling machine (15) is equipped with a brush belt (21) carrying the fleece to be needled and serving as needle stitch base, said belt being made up of numerous brush plates (24) carrying bristle clusters (25), the outer edges (26) of said plates (24) being of a zig-zag design formed in such a way that the edges (26) of respectively adjacent lying brush plates (24) interlock in such a way that the bristle clusters (25) along the outer edges are spaced at the same distance towards each other as those in the inner area of the brush plates (24), the bristles of the bristle clusters (24) are trimmed on their free ends in a conical or wedge-shaped manner, the holding down plate lies on the fiber fleece web and is pressed down onto it and crown needles (23) are used for the three-dimensional structuring of the pre-needled fiber fleece.

The invention refers to a method and apparatus for substantially automatically setting needles of needle boards of machines for the production of textile needle-felt webs, with needles of which the rear shaft end is bent by 90.degree. to form an L-shaped head, wherein first of all the needles, oriented by ends, are filled into a container situated on the upper end of an inclined plane and subsequently, leaving the container individually through a slot in one container wall and lying parallel to each other, they slide on and then past a vibrating inclined plane, wherein the L-shaped heads on the ends of the needle shafts fall as a result of gravity into a gap along the inclined plane and along one lateral edge thereof, and the thus oriented needles slide at the lower end of the inclined plane into the hollow space of a magazine; upon the insertion of the magazine in the needle setting apparatus the needles are pushed in a direction opposite the direction of filling against a stop and guide plate and are pushed along this plate individually and consecutively into a bore in the needle board by means of a ram capable of being moved up and down.

Apparatus for automatically setting needles in needle boards

The invention refers to a method for the production of velour needlefelt webs by processing a fiber fleece bonded through needling, using velour or fork needles forming pile loops. At least one fiber fleece band which consists of several layers is helically wound to form a tube which continuously develops in an axial direction. The tube rotates about its own axis, wherein the individual layers of the fleece band partly overlap on each wind and the lower or inner-lying layers of the wound tube are bonded in a width which is smaller, preferably up to half the width of the width of the fleece band in a known manner using felting needles and from the upper or outer-lying loose fiber layer of the wound tube, the fibers forming the pile loops are pushed through the pre-bonded lower or inner-lying fiber layer in a known manner using fork needles.
