This disclosure presents a pumping system that includes a plunger disposed in a pressure cylinder that is operable to be displaced in a suction and a discharge stroke. A packing seal is disposed between the plunger and the pressure cylinder. A valve block is disposed separate from the pressure cylinder and houses a suction valve and a discharge valve. A conduit fluidly couples the pressure cylinder with the valve block.

Pumping system having remote valve blocks

An intermittent flushing plunger packing assembly is described herein. The packing assembly includes a plurality of annular seals disposed about the plunger configured to reciprocate along a linear axis within the fluid bore of the pump, and an annular packing nut disposed circumferentially about the plunger and configured to retain the plurality of annular seals and adjust a combined height of the plurality of annular seals. A selected one of the plurality of annular seals proximate to the fluid cylinder of the pump has a flushing fluid chamber in fluid communication with a flushing fluid port coupled to a first one-way check valve allowing a pressurized flushing fluid to be introduced and retained within the flushing fluid chamber and creating a fluid barrier to prevent frac fluid in the fluid cylinder from bypassing the annular seals.

Intermittent flushing plunger packing assembly

A seal packing assembly for a hydraulic pump includes a plurality of annular dynamic seals disposed within annular grooves circumferentially defined in the annular bore, a packing gland circumferentially housing a section of the plunger, and a plurality of seal manifolds distributed and defined within the packing gland, each seal manifold defining a port at one end exposed to the pumping fluid and further defining a clean lubrication fluid inlet proximate to a second end, the fluid inlet coupled to a lube pump via a check valve, where the clean lubrication fluid housed in the seal manifolds is maintained at a constant pressure. Each seal manifold includes a piston disposed within the seal manifold having a first end configured with a first surface area to interface with the pumping fluid and a second end configured with a second surface area to interface with the clean lubrication fluid, and a fluid port configured to provide fluid communication between the seal manifold and the annular grooves of the annular dynamic seals.

Fluid end packing assembly

A retainer nut assembly for a fluid end of a pump system includes a fastener with a generally cylindrical configuration, first and second ends, external threads configured to engage corresponding threads of a fluid end block, and a cavity formed at the first end. A suction cap is configured to sealingly fit to the fluid end block. A load piston is movably disposed in the cavity adjacent the suction cap. A bore is formed through the fastener in communication with the cavity and provided with hydraulic fluid. A pressure piston is movably disposed in the bore. A threaded passageway is formed through the fastener in communication with the bore and open to the second end. A locking bolt is disposed in the threaded passageway and, when inserted into the threaded passageway, contacts the pressure piston and generates fluid pressure on the load piston.

Retainer nut assembly for pump and methods

An integrated pump and manifold assembly includes a support structure, a manifold assembly mounted on the support structure, and one or more frac pumps. The manifold assembly includes one or more low pressure lines and a high pressure discharge line including a discharge outlet configured to fluidly couple to a wellhead. The one or more frac pumps are each mounted on the support structure and include a frac pump inlet and a frac pump outlet. The one or more frac pumps are configured to be in fluid communication with the one or more low pressure lines and the high pressure discharge line. The one or more low pressure lines, the high pressure discharge line, and the one or more frac pumps are integrated as a single unit and mounted on the support structure.

Integrated pump and manifold assembly

A suction cover assembly for a reciprocating pump assembly includes a suction cover having a body that is configured to be held at least partially within an access port of a fluid cylinder of the reciprocating pump assembly. The body includes a receptacle that includes at least one radial opening that extends through the body. The suction cover assembly includes a suction cover retainer that includes a plug configured to be at least partially received within the receptacle of the body. The suction cover retainer includes at least one retention segment configured to be held within the at least one radial opening of the body. The plug is configured to be moved between a locked position wherein the at least one retention segment is in a radially extended position and an unlocked position wherein the at least one retention segment is in a radially retracted position.
