A deacidification composition for use in for treating printed cellulosic materials is provided. A method of making the composition and a method of preparing components of the composition also are provided. The composition includes a single metal alkoxide and a double metal alkoxide.

Deacidification treatment of printed cellulosic materials

The invention provides for improvements in composition and methods for the preservation of cellulosic materials through use of solutions comprising organic multi-valent metal carbonates, C -C alcohol having a moisture content of less than 100 ppm, and 86-99 weight percent of a solvent having a moisture content of less than 100 ppm.

A tile roof ridge row vent and the method of its use and construction are disclosed. The ridge row vent is designed for use with either barrel tile or flat tile. The tile roof ridge row vent includes an elongate member having a vertical section and a side section connected to allow air flow therebetween. The vertical section has a lower sealing skirt that extends under the top row of roof tiles and the side section includes plurality of ventilation openings angled downwardly and outwardly to allow air to exit the vent while preventing rain or other inclement weather from entering the vent. A second embodiment is shown for use with a single sided or mansard type roof. A third embodiment is shown for use in high wind and hurricane prone areas with an angled roof and includes an external baffle added to the ridge row vent. A fourth embodiment utilizing the ridge row vent with the external baffle is shown for use with a mansard type roof.

Tile roof ridge vent

A trailer-mounted, retractable elevated hunting stand, especially but not exclusively suitable for deer hunting. The stand comprises a wheeled trailer, suitable for pulling behind a tow vehicle. The elevated stand is hingedly mounted on the trailer in a &ldquo;jack-knife&rdquo; configuration, with a main shaft mounted via a hinge to the trailer, and a platform atop the shaft. The platform is hinged to permit rotation for compact storage. A spring biases the shaft toward a vertical position. To use the stand, the shaft is rotated to the vertical position and the seating platform is rotated on its shaft mounting so as to be substantially horizontal when the shaft is vertical. The shaft is then locked in place. A ladder permits access to the elevated platform. The shaft telescopes for additional height if desired. The trailer permits hauling of an ATV when the stand is retracted.

An improved grate for burning solid fuel having a support for the fuel, a blower for transporting air through the support, a multiplicity of orifices jets uniformly distributed across the entire area of the grate and directed through the support generally upwardly to transport preheated air toward the lower surface of the solid fuel. A trough located immediately below the support, and in close proximity to the lower surface of the solid fuel, for collecting a layer of glowing coals and providing a combustion zone in troughs between the supports. Internal air transport tubes within the support provide passageways for air to flow from the blower out of the grate. A low thermal mass heat reflector may be used with the grate for absorbing radiant energy from the combustion zone and reradiating thermal energy over the fireplace grate and out of the fireplace.

The temperature of fabric in the dryer is monitored, an increase in the monitored temperature is detected when substantially all moisture has been removed from the fabric, and operation of the dryer is controlled in response to the increase in temperature.

A low thermal mass heat reflector for use with a fireplace grate which has a combustion zone directly thereabove when fuel is burned thereon in a fireplace. The heat reflector comprises a first portion for absorbing radiant energy from the combustion zone and reradiating thermal energy back into the combustion zone, and a second portion for absorbing radiant energy from the combustion zone and reradiating thermal energy over the fireplace grate and out of the fireplace.

A fire extinguisher enclosure, particularly adapted for supporting a cylindrical tank fire extinguisher underslung from warehouse, warehouse-type retail store and industrial goods support racking includes an elongated, generally rectangular or cylindrical tubular body folded along a bottom side to form a cradle for the fire extinguisher. The body is open at one end and is connected to a flanged, generally planar support member engageable with a horizontal beam part of said racking structure. The opposite end of the enclosure includes a generally planar upstanding support plate having a transverse flange for connection to a second, generally horizontal support beam of the racking structure. The enclosure is adapted for easy access and high visibility while providing an out-of-the-way storage place for fire extinguishers required in installations wherein a vertical wall or other structure is not available or is undesirable for supporting a fire extinguisher.

A well pipe end cap attached to the top of a well pipe extending from the ground. The well pipe end cap includes a platform for supporting lawn decorations or accessory items. Items such as birdhouses, flags, or potted plants are supported for decoration, whereas items such as lawn tools, or mailboxes are supported for utilitarian or accessory uses. The platform and cap are coupled via a shaft. The ends of the shaft are threadingly or adhesively received into both the cap and the platform. The present invention further serves the function of identifying and locating the well pipe end in a sure and easy manner. The invention also integrates an electrical wire conduit end cap for well pipe ends that have associated conduit carrying the conductors of a subsurface water pump.

Microwave clothes dryer with a moisture sensor having an array of short coaxial cables extending through an electrically conductive base plate which is grounded to the shielding structure of the dryer. The ends of the cables are flush with one side of the plate and are exposed for contact with clothes in the dryer chamber. Electrical resistance is monitored between the inner conductors and the plate to determine the dryness of clothes, and the dryer is shut down when the resistance reaches a predetermined level.

A fishing lure has a lure body and a chamber open to an interior of the lure body. An intake extends from the outside of the lure body to the chamber at a first end of the chamber. A discharge extends from the outside of the lure body to the chamber at a second end of the chamber. A plunger sealingly engages a circumference of the chamber and is connected to a stem. The stem is adjustable between a first, a second and a third position located on a tongue extending from the lure and results in the plunger being displaced within the chamber. The plunger acts to draw ballast within the intake and to discharge air through the discharge opening to adjust the operating depth of the lure.

Depth-adjustable fishing lure

A system for containing oil or other contaminants which have leaked from an oil tanker or similar structure is disclosed. A protective housing surrounds the structure. A plurality of covers are each pivotably mounted at its upper edge to a lower outer edge of the housing to depend therefrom. Each cover is retained in a closed position with a lower edge of the cover adjacent the side of the structure to form a storage cavity defined by the cover, the housing, and a portion of the side of the structure. A series of interconnected collapsible float assemblies is contained within the storage cavity. In case of an oil leak, a triggering mechanism located within the housing sequentially releases the covers from the closed position and the float assemblies fall away into the water. In this manner a continuous curtain may be provided to surround the structure to prevent passage of all or most of the leaking contaminant. The housing and the hinged covers provide protection for the triggering mechanism and float assemblies contained therein from buffeting of waves and the like. The housing and covers also withstand docking procedures and function as a rub rail.
