Provided among other things is an analyzer for use with tabs placed in a vessel including: a stochastic sampling device adapted to receive the vessel; a light beam source adapted to enter the moving vessel and selectively illuminate tabs; an analytical signal receiver adapted to receive a signal indicative of an analytical process occurring on the surface of the tab as the tab is selectively illuminated; a tab ID receiver adapted to collect ID data from the tabs in coordination with their selective illumination; and a controller for associating identified tabs with analytical signals.

A re-processing method for isolating a marketable free iron product and a non-metallic co-product from small-particulate metal production by-product is provided. The re-processing method may be adapted so that the resulting free iron product is marketable granules of various sizes and properties. The method may include refining the metal production by-product into a suitably sized and spaced feedstock. The feedstock may be fed into the system and, through exposure to a first magnetic field, isolated into a first free iron product and a first co-product. The first free iron product may continued through the system so as to further isolate into a second free iron product and a second co-product through exposure to a second magnetic field. The second free iron product may be the marketable granules of free iron product, while the first co-product and the second co-product may be combined and further isolated in the marketable non-metallic co-product. The re-processing method may be iterative in that the resulting second free iron product may be analyzed for determining beneficial modifications that can be made to the feedstock refinement and/or the first and/or second magnetic field isolation steps of the underlying method.

A vertical axis wind turbine system includes a vertical shaft rotatably mounted about a vertical axis and an upper platen coupled to the vertical shaft. Vanes are coupled to the vertical shaft and extend downward from the upper platen. Each vane has a concave face and an opposing convex face. A lower platen is coupled to the vertical shaft and to each vane. The lower platen has an opening formed therein proximate to the concave face of each vane. A plenum is disposed below the vertical axis wind turbine and is rotatably mounted about the shaft for rotation about the vertical axis. The plenum includes a top portion disposed proximate to the lower platen and has an outlet port therein. The outlet port is in fluid communication with at least one of the lower platen openings. A plenum passage provides fluid communication between a plenum inlet and the outlet port.

Vertical axis wind turbine system

A floating dock made from a plurality of float elements and the float elements. Each float element is hollow and open to the water on the bottom. On the top of each float element are slots for attaching beams from which to construct the dock. These slots may be at different levels to allow the beams to cross in different planes. The float elements also have flanges at their bottom edges which provide an additional means of connection between elements.

An artificial floating island is disclosed. The includes a floating structure formed from a plurality of hollow bottomless cells created by a plurality of hexagons and triangular cells. The resulting geometry creates a straight line for pre-stressing of reinforcing. The island is additionally composed of a primary cell, balance cells and secondary cells. The primary cell permits wave and swell action to travel under the structure with little disruption. The top of the secondary cells are polygonal domes for efficient containment of pressure.

Artificial floating island

A portable container which may be refrigerated is provided which is composed of a flexible floor, walls, and lid and composed of inner and outer walls with flexible refrigerant gel captivated between these walls, floor and lid. The lid may be closed to the container with a device selected from the group consisting of nylon zippers and velcro seals. The entire container may be compressed or folded in a relatively flat position in order to be easily placed into the freezer so that the gel can be frozen for cooling purposes.

An artificial floating island is disclosed. The island includes a floating structure formed from a plurality of hollow island modules. Each module may have a platform and side walls for trapping air and providing buoyancy for the floating structure. The modules also include a plurality of shorter strengthening ribs to provide additional strength and safety. Adjacent island modules may be connected by hinge mechanisms to form the floating artificial island. An air supply mechanism may be connected to the sides of adjacent island modules to replenish air inside the hollow modules.

A board game is provided to have a board defining a plurality of pockets symmetrically situated around a periphery of the board and a plurality of depressions for accepting movable game pieces. A rotating shaft of an electric motor is positioned in the center of the board, the electric motor being powered by a battery and controlled by a switch. An outwardly extending arm is attached to rotate with the shaft. A horse figure is permanently attached to the rotating arm, the horse figure being configured to pass over the plurality of pockets. Atop the horse figure is positioned a cowboy figure separate from and removably connected to the horse figure. A plurality of bumps and ridges are positioned between the plurality of pockets and a center of the board for jostling contact with the arm and the connected horse figure and cowboy figure, causing random or semirandom detachment of the cowboy figure from the horse figure, with the cowboy figure falling into one of the plurality of pockets to determine movement of game pieces.

A portable container which may be refrigerated is provided which is composed of a floor and wall composed of an inner and outer wall with refrigerant captivated between these walls and a lid to close the container which also contains a charge of refrigerant in a recess therein, a labyrinth-type seal is provided between the lid and the wall composed of interdigitated ridges.
