A drumstick that is produced from a pair of bonded wooden halves that form an elongated, structure having a circular bore therethrough. Into the circular bore is inserted a core tube that increases the rigidity of the drumstick, a multiplicity of glass micro-spheres that function to reduce drumstick vibrations that can affect a drummer, and a resilient sleeve that is inserted over the front end and partial rear end of the drumstick. The resilient sleeve increases the useful life of both the drumstick and the instrument struck by the drumstick.

Drumstick

A percussion instrument dampening pad (PIDP) that is designed to be attached to the vibrating surface of a drumhead, a drum, a cymbal or the like. The PIDP functions by reducing unwanted vibrations and overtones that occur when the drumhead or cymbal is struck. The PIDP is comprised of at least one composite upper section, a first vibration absorbent layer preferably comprised of polyurethane puron foam, and a second vibration absorbent layer preferably comprised of butyl rubber that is in contact with the vibrating surface of the drumhead, drum or the cymbal. The composite upper section is further comprised of a metallized layer, a fabric layer and an adhesive layer. The PIDP also includes indicia and a removable liner that is removed prior to attaching the exposed butyl rubber to the surface of a drumhead or the like.

Percussion instrument dampening pad

A series of musical vehicles form a cooperative musical instrument. Each musical vehicle may be outfitted with a musical tone generator and horn, or loud speaker that plays a particular note on a music scale. Each musical vehicle may have multiple horns or speakers having a predetermined tonal separation between each horn or speaker. For example, the B flat vehicle may have 5 horns that play a series of five of the B-flat notes having a predetermined tonal separation between each note. Each of the horns or speakers on each musical vehicle may be separately activated so that, for example, the B vehicle would sound a middle B when the middle B signal is activated. The horns or speakers may be permanently mounted or preferably mounted on a rack that can be moved from vehicle to vehicle. Each horn or speaker may be activated by a separate musical command signal, or a common radio signal using encoded signals to select one or more notes from one or more of the musical cars, transmitted from a control system which may be located in fixed location, in a separate vehicle or in one of the musical vehicles. The control system may include a keyboard which can be operated to cause music to be generated by the group of vehicles. The command system may receive musical input from a cd or cassette or other suitable device which plays a pre-recorded piece of music through the musical vehicles.

Cooperative musical instrument

In a communication technique using the apparent distribution of stars and other celestial bodies visible from the earth to generate codes corresponding to communication characters such as the English alphabet and or Arabic numbers, the characters of a conventional keyboard, or any other suitable character set. The stars, or subset of stars, or combinations of stars and other celestial bodies to be used may be divided into sections; the stars or stars and celestial bodies of each section may be assigned to represent one or more characters of the character set to be used. A communication to be sent is prepared by replacing each conventional character of the communication with the section of stars that correspond to the character. The resulting communication is unrecognizable as a conventional communication, it has a high degree of security, and yet it has an esthetic or romantic appeal similar to that of the night sky. Any celestial communication may be decoded by reversing the procedure.

Celestial body communication techniques

A non-breakable metal drumstick having a replaceable sheath of plastic material thereon to prevent damage to drums and cymbals, constructed to minimize vibration ordinarily associated with metal drumsticks.

Sleeved metal drumstick

The assembly includes a skateboard, a plurality of spaced wheel axles and rotatably secured sets of wheels and elongated resilient suspension frames connected at their opposite ends through housings to the wheel axles and to the underside of the skateboard. The assembly has at least four different shock-absorbing systems. Thus, the frames themselves absorb shock, as do cylinders of resilient rubber or the like set in cups connected to the frames above the wheel axles and bearing against the underside of the board. The wheel axle housings also include resilient dampeners which adjustably restrict steering rotation of the wheel axles and additionally dampen shocks. The frame housing connected to the underside of the skateboard rotatably receives the bases of the frames and adjustably controls that rotation, while providing a shock absorbing function, through the use of resilient bushing around the frame bases. The bushings are adjustably compressible thereagainst by adjustably tightening the frame housing against the underside of the skateboard. The assembly is simple, inexpensive, durable and efficient, imparting greatly improved riding and handling characteristics to the skateboard.
