A rotary engine comprised of a pair of counterrotating rotors within a non-rotating outer housing. Each of the rotors is coupled to a common power shaft, one directly and the other through a reversing gear arrangement. Both are driven by the hyper-expansion of combustion gases in a repeating combustion cycle. Each has a generally circular, nearly frictionless working surface perpendicular to the power shaft axis. Each rotor surface defines chambers which rotate past each other. Within such chambers, compressed air and fuel are introduced, mixed, ignited, allowed to hyper-expand (and thus cause the rotation) and exhausted. The power shaft may be connected to a conventional clutch, torque converter, gearbox, differential, alternator or a similar system.

Dispensing support for use with an associated brick-type package, the brick-type package presenting a parallelepiped shape for its bottom and side panels and a gable top panel with a pour spout attached thereto. The dispensing support comprises a parallelepiped sleeve, the sleeve being divided in two parts attached together by a hinge, so that the sleeve can be opened and the associated brick-type package can be inserted inside. The dispensing support presents an upwardly projecting spout extending from the top wall of the parallelepiped sleeve, the spout being off-center on the top wall of the sleeve so as to engage the pour spout at the gable top panel of the brick-type package when the package is introduced in the dispensing support with its gable top compressed.

An improved coupling is disclosed for connecting a pump to a container. A first embodiment of the improved coupling incorporates a slidable coupling sleeve for piercing a frangible seal for providing liquid communication from the container to the pump. The invention is suitable for use with an aseptic container, a refrigerated container or a non-refrigerated container with or without preservatives.

A vertical axis sail-type wind turbine includes an array of sail-like structures that are mounted on rotating main masts. The sail-like structures can be oriented to interact with the wind. For example, when the sail-like structures are moving in a downwind direction, they are oriented to present a flat surface that is perpendicular to the wind direction. On the other hand, when the sail-like structures are moving in an upwind direction, they are oriented to present a surface that is at an angle that creates an upwind vector. The sail-like structures rotate about the sail masts, which are rotatably mounted to sail mounting arms that are firmly mounted to a main mast. The main mast rotates, transferring power through a gear and shaft drive to hydraulic pumps in the tower. This hydraulic fluid pressure is then used to drive an electrical generator.

A pump for metering a liquid is disclosed comprising a flexible tube connected to a container with a pressure relief valve located in the flexible tube. A housing defines an aperture for receiving the flexible tube with a compression surface located adjacent to the aperture. A reciprocating member has a sealing element and a pumping element. A drive moves the sealing element for pinching the flexible tube against the compression surface upstream from the pressure relief valve for trapping liquid between the sealing element and the pressure relief valve. The drive moves the pumping element for collapsing the flexible tube against the compression surface for pumping the trapped liquid to discharge a metered quantity of the liquid from the pressure relief valve.

A terminal orifice processor is disclosed for processing a first and a second liquid emanating from a discharging aperture. The terminal orifice processor comprises a housing having a housing input and a housing output. A connector locates the housing input of the housing below the discharging aperture. A processing channel is interposed between the housing input and the housing output for altering the direction of the first and a second liquid emanating from a discharging aperture for processing the first and second liquids prior to exiting from the housing output. The terminal orifice processor is suitable for mixing and aerating a concentrate and a diluent from a beverage-dispensing machine.

An improved display is disclosed for a dispensing machine having a plurality of switches for dispensing a plurality of products. The improved display comprises a plurality of illuminators located in proximity to the plurality of switches. A decorative panel indicates the types of the plurality of products for dispensing by the dispensing machine. A mounting fixes the decorative panel for enabling the plurality of illuminators to illuminate the decorative panel. A control is connected to the plurality of switches for energizing the plurality of illuminators in response to an actuation of a selected one of the plurality of switches for indicating the dispensing of one of the plurality of products by the dispensing machine.

A molded plastic bottle of generally parallelepiped configuration and having two opposing sides has an integrally molded reentrant beam support extending inwardly of the bottle and engaging the other opposing side, with that support including a flexible portion to permit a limited amount of deflection of the two opposing sides toward or away from one another.

An improved artificial bait fish is disclosed for use with a fishing hook attached to a fishing line. The improved artificial bait fish comprises a longitudinally extending fish body member formed in a replica of a fish having a head portion, a body portion and a tail portion. A bore extends longitudinally through the fish body member from the head portion toward the tail portion. The bore receives the fishing line therein for positioning the fishing hook relative to the tail portion of the fish body member. The improved artificial bait fish may be used with an artificial fishing lure.

This invention provides an apparatus and a method for agitating a fluid suspension contained within an at least partially flexible vessel. This invention provides an apparatus comprising a structure for receiving the vessel, an agitating member capable of receiving the vessel, and a motor operatively communicating with the agitating member to substantially uniformly agitate the fluid suspension. This invention also provides a method comprising folding an at least partially flexible vessel so that there are two inner portions and reciprocally moving one or both of the inner portions between a first position and a second position, whereby the fluid suspension is substantially uniformly agitated.
