A sensor data system, method and computer program configured to handle sensor data are disclosed. The system includes a reception unit adapted to receive sensor data, a storing unit adapted to store at least some of the received sensor data in an observations database, a recording unit adapted to record usage of the sensor data, and a relevance determination unit adapted to determine the relevance of the sensor data based on the recorded usage. A decision unit is adapted to remove excess sensor data with determined relevance below a limit from the observations database, and to retain relevant sensor data with determined relevance above the limit in the sensor database. Sensor data in an observations database may thereby be limited to a desired size, by removal of excess sensor data from the database.

Method, computer program, computer program product and system for handling sensor data

A method for retrieving maps from a map server is disclosed where, as an intermediate step, map meta-data is requested on the basis of which one or more map can later be selected. Map meta-data on the basis of location data, indicating the location of the user device, and map criteria, specifying at least one condition for selecting maps which may be entered manually or automatically into a user device. The request is sent to a map server where a search for map meta-data matching the received location data and map criteria is executed. In case of at least one match between the map meta-data, the location data and the map criteria, map meta-data associated with at least one map is provided to the user device, such that the user device can select at least one map, which can be acquired from the map server, at least partly on the basis of the retrieved map meta-data.

Methods and apparatus are provided for collecting and detecting service area (SA) swapping noise in a wireless network including a plurality of SAs serving a plurality of devices. By receiving SA updates from the stationary devices of the plurality of devices changes in SA identifiers of the SA updates associated with each stationary device are detected. For each stationary device, if two or more SAs are detected to have changed for the stationary device, then these SAs are identified as contributing to SA swapping noise. With this in mind, SA transitions between the identified SAs for a non-stationary device of the plurality of devices are not interpreted as movement of the non-stationary device. However, SA transitions for the non-stationary device from these SAs to other SAs not contributing to SA swapping noise are interpreted as a change of location or movement of the non-stationary device.

A method and apparatus for handling location data in a mobile communications network. A network node obtains an average geographical location of a mobile device over a predetermined time period and uses the average geographical location in an area of interest in an Origin Destination matrix. The advantage of using an average geographical location over a period of time is that much less data needs to be stored compared to storing all geographical data, but the data can be reused to define new Origin Destination matrices.

Location data for one or more devices is received, for each device the location data includes a unique identifier. Whether the devices belong to the group of devices is determined based on the unique identifier. The present invention provides an improved recommender system. In some embodiments, the recommender system automatically builds a user profile for a user based solely on the action or actions the user takes with respect to certain documents and the contents of the documents. That is, the profile is based on implicit ratings. In addition to maintaining a user profile for each user, each document in a set of documents will have its own document profile, which is also referred to as a document vector. Advantageously, in some embodiments, the user profile will consist of the same attributes as the document vectors. This advantageous feature enables the recommender system to compare users and documents in order to generate recommendations.
