A medical device may include a handle having a handle lumen extending therethrough. The medical device further may include a first body shaft including a first body shaft lumen in direct communication with the handle lumen and an RF electrode tip may be positioned at a distal end of the first body shaft. The RF electrode tip may include a lumen extending therethrough and in direct communication with the lumen of the first body shaft. Additionally, an energy delivery wire may be electrically coupled with the RF electrode tip.

Systems and methods for tissue coagulation

Aspects of a device are described. One aspect is a device comprising: a housing having a first portion engageable with a scope, and a second portion engageable with a handle of a retrieval device; a platform that is movable relative to the housing, and engageable with a slider of the retrieval device; and a link assembly that is coupled the housing and the platform, and operable to move the platform and slider relative to the housing and handle. Aspects of related devices and systems also are described.

Actuator devices and systems

A medical device includes a sheath extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and a handle coupled to the proximal end of the sheath. The handle includes a deflection lever coupled thereto. The deflection lever is rotatable proximally and distally along the handle to deflect a distal end of the shaft to which it is operably coupled and a locking mechanism movable between an locked configuration in which the locking mechanism engages an engagement feature on the outer surface of the handle, preventing the deflection lever from rotating and locking the distal end of the shaft in a desired position, and an unlocked configuration in which the locking mechanism releases the engagement feature to allow rotation of the deflection lever and deflection of the distal end of the shaft.

Ureteroscope device and method for using of such a device

According to a general aspect, an insertion device can include an elongate barrel having an opening defined in a distal end; a lumen defined within the elongate barrel, the lumen being accessible through the opening; and an obturator disposed within the lumen of the elongate barrel. The obturator can be movable within the lumen between a proximal position in the elongate barrel and a distal position in the elongate barrel. The obturator, in its distal position in the elongate barrel, can be configured to receive a needle via the opening. The obturator, in its proximal position in the elongate barrel, can be configured to secure the needle within the elongate barrel.

Furlow insertion device

A medical device may include a spool element, including a channel to receive or store a coiled element, and a handle element. The handle element may be coupled to the spool element and include a lumen that at least partially opens into the channel. The medical device may also include an introducer element coupled to the handle, and relative rotation of the spool element and the handle element may dispense or retract the coiled element from the introducer.

Medical devices and related methods

A device may include a handle, and a sheath coupled to the handle. The sheath may include a lumen. The device may also include an instrument assembly coupled to the handle, and extending through the lumen of the sheath. The instrument assembly may include a basket configured to move relative to the sheath, and between contracted and expanded states. The instrument assembly may also include a forceps configured to reciprocate along a central longitudinal axis of the basket and through an interior of the basket, and move between contracted and expanded states.

Multifunction retrieval devices and related methods

A hand-holdable steering mechanism is used as part of a medical device such as a catheter or an endoscope to allow movement of a steerable distal portion of the catheter or endoscope. The mechanism can include a housing, a first actuator, and a second actuator. The first actuator is configured to move the steerable portion along a first plane when the first actuator is moved between first and second positions. The second actuator is configured to move the steerable portion along a second plane different than the first plane when the second actuator is moved between first and second positions.

Steering mechanism

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a device for extracting and/or morcellating tissue or other unwanted material from within a patient's body. In one embodiment, a medical device may include an elongate member including a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. The medical device may also include an expandable member disposed at the distal end, wherein an interior of the expandable member is in fluid communication with the lumen in the elongate member, wherein the expandable member includes a plurality of conducting elements extending from and disposed circumferentially about the elongate member, wherein at least two of the plurality of conducting elements are joined together by a material extending therebetween.

Retrieval device and related methods of use

A retrieval device includes a sheath having a distal end, and a plurality of support members extending distal of the distal end, the support members each including a distal loop. The retrieval device further includes a hollow member extending distal of the distal end, and a movable member extending distally from the hollow member and slidably extending through the distal loops of the support members.

Medical retrieval devices and methods

A medical device may include an elongate member, and a plurality of grasping members extending from the elongate member. Each of the grasping members may include a proximal end, and a distal end. Each of the grasping members may include at least one first section formed of a first material and a second material, and a second section located at the distal end of the grasping member. The second section may be formed without the first material and being less stiff than the at least one first section.

Medical retrieval devices and related methods of use

A medical device having a valve member and a securing member is provided. The valve member is configured to be positioned inside a bodily passageway. The valve member includes a plurality of flaps configured to move from a first position to a second position at a predetermined pressure or in response to being exposed to a predetermined pressure. The securing member is configured to be positioned outside the bodily passageway. The securing member is configured to help retain the valve member in place within the bodily passageway.
